Setup and Assembly
Follow these steps to assemble your ELPHECO Motion Sensor Trash Can. No complicated tools are required.
- Insert Body Panels into Base: Place the two stainless steel body panels into the designated slots on the base unit. Ensure they are securely seated.
- Install Fixing Straps: Attach the two fixing straps along the vertical edges where the body panels meet. These straps help secure the panels together.
- Install Bag Retaining Ring: Place the bag retaining ring onto the top edge of the assembled body. Snap it into the left and right slots to secure it.
- Place the Lid: Position the lid with the motion sensor unit onto the bag retaining ring. Ensure it is properly aligned.
- Install Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the underside of the lid and insert 3 AA batteries (not included) according to the polarity markings. Close the compartment securely.

Operating Instructions
The ELPHECO Motion Sensor Trash Can offers both automatic and manual operation modes.
Motion Sensor Operation
- To activate the motion sensor, ensure the power switch (usually on the back or underside of the lid) is in the 'ON' position.
- Wave your hand or approach the sensor area (typically at the front of the lid). The lid will open automatically within 0.3 seconds.
- The lid will remain open for a few seconds to allow for waste disposal and then close softly and silently.

Long Open Mode (Manual Operation)
- For extended use, such as during food preparation, press the 'Long-Open Button' (often marked with an 'L' or an open lid icon) on the control panel.
- The lid will open and remain open until you press the 'Close Button' (often marked with a square or closed lid icon) or the 'Long-Open Button' again.

Maintenance
Changing Trash Bags
- Remove the lid from the trash can.
- Lift the bag retaining ring to access the trash bag.
- Carefully remove the full trash bag.
- Place a new custom-fit trash bag (Code C recommended) into the bin, ensuring the top edge is neatly tucked under the retaining ring.
- Replace the bag retaining ring and then the lid.

Cleaning
- The trash can features a fully detachable design, allowing for easy cleaning of the outer container.
- Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth and a mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.
- For the interior, wipe down with a damp cloth and disinfectant as needed. Ensure the interior is dry before placing a new trash bag.
- Do not immerse the lid with the electronic components in water.
