Cleaning the Remote Control

To maintain the appearance and functionality of your remote control, clean it regularly:

  • Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface of the remote.
  • For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid excessive moisture.
  • Do not use harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaning pads, as these can damage the remote's finish or internal components.

Battery Replacement

Replace the batteries when the remote control's response becomes sluggish or stops working. Always replace both AAA batteries at the same time with new ones. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.

Troubleshooting

Remote Not Responding

  • Check Batteries: Ensure batteries are inserted correctly with the correct polarity (+/-). Replace old batteries with new ones.
  • Line of Sight: Make sure there is a clear line of sight between the remote control and the Naim Mu-so 2nd Gen Music System. Obstructions can block the infrared signal.
  • Distance: Ensure you are within the effective operating range (typically up to 12 meters / 40 feet).

Intermittent Operation

  • Battery Contacts: Check if the battery contacts inside the compartment are clean and free from corrosion. Gently clean them if necessary.
  • Environmental Interference: Strong light sources, especially fluorescent lights or direct sunlight, can sometimes interfere with infrared signals. Try operating the remote in a different environment.
