Setup

  1. Charge the MEATER Block: Connect the bamboo charging block to a USB-C power source using the provided cable. Ensure the probes are fully inserted into their slots for charging. A full charge provides over 24 hours of continuous use.
  2. Download the MEATER App: The free MEATER app is available on iOS (version 15 and later) and Android (version 8.0 and later). Search for "MEATER" in your device's app store and install it.
  3. Connect to the App: Open the MEATER app and follow the on-screen instructions to pair your MEATER Pro XL. The system supports both Bluetooth 5.2 for local monitoring and built-in WiFi for extended range and MEATER Cloud connectivity, allowing you to monitor your cook from anywhere.
  4. Initial Probe Pairing: The probes should automatically pair with the block when inserted. If issues arise, refer to the app's settings for probe pairing options.

Operating Instructions

  1. Insert Probes: Carefully insert the probe into the thickest part of your meat, avoiding bones. Ensure the probe is inserted past the safety notch to accurately measure internal temperature. The ceramic band on the probe is designed to withstand high ambient temperatures up to 1,000°F.
  2. Set Up Cook in App: In the MEATER app, select the type of meat, desired doneness, and cooking appliance (e.g., BBQ, oven, grill, smoker, air fryer, deep fryer, sous vide). The app provides guided cooking assistance and estimated cook times.
  3. Monitor Progress: The app will display real-time internal and ambient temperatures, along with an estimated time remaining for your cook. You will receive alerts and notifications on your smartphone or tablet when your meat is nearing its target temperature, when it's time to remove it from heat, and when it's ready to serve after resting.
  4. Standalone Mode: The bamboo block features an OLED display, allowing you to monitor basic cook progress directly on the device without needing the app.

  • Charging: Keep the probes in the bamboo block when not in use to ensure they remain charged. The block itself charges via USB-C.

  • Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the probe is inserted correctly into the thickest part of the meat, past the safety notch. No calibration is required for the probes.
  • Battery Life: If probes are not holding a charge, ensure they are fully seated in the charging block and the block itself is charged.
