4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Filling the Bottle

Unscrew the grip-cap to open the bottle. Fill with your desired beverage. For optimal insulation performance, fill with cold liquids. Do not overfill; leave a small air gap at the top to prevent pressure buildup and facilitate cap closure.

4.2 Using the Grip-Cap and Nozzle

The grip-cap features a soft, food-grade silicone nozzle. To drink, pull the nozzle upwards to open the valve. Push the nozzle down firmly to close the valve and prevent leaks. The grip-cap design allows for easy manipulation even with cycling gloves.

4.3 Temperature Retention

The triple-layer insulation is designed to keep cold liquids cool for approximately 2.5 hours. Performance may vary based on ambient temperature and initial liquid temperature. For best results, pre-chill the bottle before filling with cold beverages.

5. Maintenance and Care

5.1 Cleaning

Regular cleaning is essential to maintain hygiene and prolong the life of your bottle. The Zefal Arctica 75 is machine washable. For hand washing, use a bottle brush with warm, soapy water. Pay special attention to the nozzle and cap threads to remove any residue. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow to air dry completely before reassembling or storing.

5.2 Storage

Store the bottle with the cap off or slightly loosened to allow air circulation and prevent odors. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Liquid Not Staying Cold: Ensure the cap is tightly sealed. Pre-chilling the bottle before filling with cold liquid can improve insulation performance. Extreme ambient temperatures may reduce the effective insulation time.
  • Difficulty Inserting/Extracting from Cage: Some bottle cages may have a tighter fit. Ensure the bottle is aligned correctly before pushing or pulling. A slight twist can sometimes help.
  • Leakage from Nozzle/Cap: Verify that the nozzle is fully pushed down to the closed position. Check that the cap is screwed on tightly and that the silicone seal inside the cap is properly seated and free from debris.
  • Unpleasant Odor: Thoroughly clean the bottle and cap, paying close attention to the nozzle and any crevices. Allow all parts to air dry completely before reassembly. For persistent odors, a mixture of baking soda and water can be used for soaking.
