4. Installation

4.1 Mounting

The EK2R-2P100 ATS is designed for Din Rail mounting. Ensure the mounting location is dry, well-ventilated, and free from excessive vibrations or corrosive gases. Mount the unit vertically to allow for proper heat dissipation.

  • Securely attach a standard 35mm Din Rail to a suitable surface within your electrical panel.
  • Clip the ATS onto the Din Rail, ensuring it is firmly seated.

4.2 Wiring

IMPORTANT: All wiring must comply with local and national electrical codes. Consult a qualified electrician if you are unsure about any wiring procedures.

  • Disconnect all power sources before beginning any wiring.
  • Connect Main Power (Source A): Connect the "City Power" input terminals (labeled 'Source A' on the device, with terminals like NC C NO AR AN) to your primary power source (e.g., utility grid).
  • Connect Secondary Power (Source B): Connect the "Generator" input terminals (labeled 'Source B' on the device, with terminals like NC C NO BR BN) to your secondary power source (e.g., generator or inverter).
  • Connect Load: Connect the load circuit to the output terminals of the ATS.
  • Grounding: Ensure proper grounding for both power sources and the ATS unit.
  • Verify Connections: Double-check all wiring for correct polarity and secure connections. Loose connections can cause overheating and fire hazards.

Note: The device supports 2P (two-pole) and 4P (four-pole) configurations, and is rated for 220V systems. Ensure your specific model (e.g., 4P 100A) matches your application.

5. Operating Instructions

The EK2R-2P100 ATS features a Manual/Auto selector switch for operational control.

5.1 Automatic Mode

  • Set the selector switch to "Auto".
  • In this mode, the ATS will automatically detect the presence and quality of power from Source A (City Power) and Source B (Generator/Inverter).
  • If Source A is present and within acceptable parameters, the ATS will connect the load to Source A.
  • If Source A fails or falls outside acceptable parameters, the ATS will automatically switch the load to Source B (if Source B is available and stable).
  • When Source A returns to normal, the ATS will automatically transfer the load back to Source A after a pre-set delay (if applicable).

5.2 Manual Mode

  • Set the selector switch to "Manual".
  • In Manual mode, the user can manually select the desired power source using the red rotary switch (visible in Figure 1).
  • Caution: Ensure that the selected source is stable and capable of supplying the load before manually switching. Manual operation should only be performed by knowledgeable personnel.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and reliable operation of your ATS.

  • Periodic Inspection: Annually inspect the ATS for any signs of physical damage, loose connections, or discoloration due to overheating.
  • Cleaning: Keep the unit clean and free from dust and debris. Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners.
  • Terminal Check: Periodically check all terminal connections to ensure they are tight.
  • Function Test: If safe to do so, periodically test the automatic transfer function by simulating a primary power failure.

Always disconnect power before performing any maintenance.

7. Troubleshooting

This section provides solutions to common issues. For problems not listed here, contact qualified service personnel.

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
ATS does not transfer power. No power from primary/secondary source; ATS in Manual mode; faulty wiring.Check power sources; set ATS to Auto mode; inspect wiring connections.
Load not receiving power. Both power sources are off; circuit breaker tripped; internal fault.Verify power source availability; check and reset circuit breakers; contact support if problem persists.
Overload alarm.Connected load exceeds ATS capacity.Reduce connected load; ensure total load does not exceed the ATS's rated current (e.g., 100A for this model).
