5. Installation

Careful installation is crucial for optimal performance. Ensure your vehicle is compatible before proceeding.

5.1 Compatibility Check

This product is not suitable for cars with 6PIN CIC system and 6PIN NBT system. The 2017 model year is a transition phase; some models may have the NBT system, which is incompatible. Always verify your original system's LVDS connection socket.

5.2 Wiring and Connections

Ensure all wiring is securely connected. If your OEM system uses a fiber optic cable, it must be adapted to the PEMP ISO harness.

For wired CarPlay and Android Auto, use the USB IN 1 port.

5.3 Camera Installation

The system supports both OEM and aftermarket front/rear view cameras (720P or less).

6. Setup

6.1 Initial Bluetooth Connection

To ensure proper sound and call functionality, connect your phone to the original OEM Bluetooth first.

6.2 Screen Resolution Settings

If the display appears distorted or incorrect, adjust the screen resolution in the settings.

7. Operating Instructions

7.1 CarPlay and Android Auto

The system supports both wireless and wired CarPlay and Android Auto. Once connected, you can access navigation, music, calls, and other apps directly from the screen.

7.2 OEM Bluetooth for Calls and Music

The system is designed to support your vehicle's original Bluetooth for superior call quality and music playback.

8. Maintenance

To maintain the longevity and performance of your PEMP Linux Screen, regularly clean the screen with a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. Ensure all connections remain secure. Keep the device away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight for prolonged periods.

9. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter.

9.1 No Sound Issue

If you experience no sound from the screen, follow these steps:

  1. Check if the OEM radio has sound by pressing the FM/AM button.
  2. If the OEM radio has sound, navigate to Settings > Car Settings > Original Car's Screen Resolution and select the appropriate resolution.
  3. If there is no sound from the OEM radio, reconnect the socket on the back of the OEM radio.
  4. Ensure the AUX harness is correctly connected.

9.2 OEM Resolution Issues / Splash Screen

If the screen displays a splash screen or has resolution problems, adjust the screen resolution in the settings. If the issue persists after setting, press the FM/AM button. If there is still no sound from the radio, contact customer service.

9.3 USBAUX Box Connection (Optional)

If you need Airplay and USB flash drive sound, a separately purchased USBAUX box and AUX cable are required.
