Bresser Wireless Weather Station User Manual

Model: 7007620

Brand: BRESSER

1. Introduction

The Bresser Wireless Weather Station with its frameless color display provides essential weather information at a glance. This device is designed to offer accurate readings of indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity, along with reliable weather forecasts, helping you plan your day effectively. Its modern design seamlessly integrates into any home or office environment.

The station features a graphical weather forecast that informs you about upcoming weather changes. It also displays current atmospheric pressure, allowing you to monitor weather trends. An integrated indoor climate comfort indicator helps you maintain an optimal indoor environment.

The robust outdoor sensor, with an IP44 water resistance rating, measures temperature and humidity outside and transmits data wirelessly to the main unit up to 80 meters away. The sensor also has its own LCD display for direct readings. Practical functions like a frost alert and maximum/minimum value alarms for temperature and humidity ensure you are always informed about significant weather changes.

Note: 2x AAA batteries for the main unit (for backup) and 2x AAA batteries for the outdoor sensor are NOT included and must be purchased separately.

3. Setup

3.1 Powering the Main Unit

  1. Insert 2x AAA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment on the back of the main unit. This provides backup power in case of a power outage.
  2. Connect the included power adapter to the DC 5V port on the back of the main unit and plug it into a standard wall outlet. The display will light up.

3.2 Powering the Outdoor Sensor

  1. Open the battery compartment on the back of the outdoor sensor.
  2. Insert 2x AAA batteries (not included) according to the polarity markings.
  3. Close the battery compartment securely.

3.3 Pairing the Sensor with the Main Unit

Once both units are powered, the main unit will automatically search for the outdoor sensor. The outdoor temperature and humidity readings should appear on the main unit's display within a few minutes. If not, ensure both units are within range (up to 80 meters in open air) and try pressing the 'CH' button on the main unit to initiate a manual search.

3.4 Optimal Placement

  • Main Unit: Place the main unit indoors on a flat surface, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, or vents that could affect indoor temperature readings.
  • Outdoor Sensor: For accurate outdoor readings, place the sensor in a shaded, well-ventilated area, protected from direct rain and sunlight. Avoid placing it near large metal objects or electronic devices that could interfere with the wireless signal. The sensor is IP44 water-resistant, meaning it is protected against splashing water, but it should not be submerged.

3.5 Initial Time and Date Synchronization

The weather station is equipped with a DCF radio-controlled clock. Upon initial setup, it will attempt to synchronize with the DCF time signal. This process may take several minutes or hours depending on signal strength. Ensure the unit is placed away from potential interference sources. If synchronization fails, you can manually set the time and date using the control buttons on the back of the unit (refer to section 4.2).

4. Operating the Weather Station

4.1 Display Overview

The frameless color display is divided into several sections, providing comprehensive information:

  • Top Center: Time, Date, Day of the Week, DCF signal indicator, Alarm icon.
  • Top Left: Indoor Temperature and Humidity, with trend indicators.
  • Top Right: Outdoor Temperature and Humidity, with trend indicators and channel indicator.
  • Middle: Graphical Weather Forecast icons (sunny, partly cloudy, cloudy, rainy, snowy).
  • Bottom Center: Atmospheric Pressure.
  • Bottom Left/Right: Indoor/Outdoor Comfort Indicators.

4.2 Setting Time and Date Manually

If the DCF signal is not available or you prefer manual setting:

  1. Press and hold the 'SET' button (or similar, refer to button labels on your unit) on the back of the main unit to enter time setting mode.
  2. Use the '+' or '-' buttons to adjust the flashing value (e.g., hour, minute, year, month, day).
  3. Press 'SET' again to confirm the setting and move to the next value.
  4. Repeat until all settings are complete.

4.3 Understanding Weather Forecasts

The weather station predicts weather conditions for the next 12-24 hours based on changes in atmospheric pressure. The forecast icons are:

  • Sunny
  • Partly Cloudy
  • Cloudy
  • Rainy
  • Snowy

Note that these are forecasts and may not always perfectly match actual conditions, especially in rapidly changing weather patterns.

4.4 Viewing Max/Min Temperature and Humidity

Press the 'MAX/MIN' button (or similar) to cycle through the current, maximum, and minimum recorded values for indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity. The station stores these values since the last reset or power cycle.

4.5 Setting Alarms

  • Time Alarm: Press the 'ALARM' button to view the alarm time. Press and hold 'ALARM' to set the alarm time. Use '+' or '-' to adjust and 'ALARM' to confirm.
  • Max/Min Temperature Alarm: This feature allows you to set upper and lower temperature limits. If the temperature goes above or below these limits, an alarm will sound. Refer to the specific button (e.g., 'ALERT' or 'TEMP ALARM') and follow the on-screen prompts to set these values.
  • Frost Alert: The station will automatically alert you when the outdoor temperature drops to a level indicating potential frost (typically around 0°C or 32°F). Ensure this feature is enabled in the settings if available.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

Wipe the main unit and outdoor sensor with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the display or casing. Ensure the outdoor sensor is dry after cleaning.

5.2 Battery Replacement

Replace batteries in both the main unit (backup) and the outdoor sensor when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Always replace all batteries in a unit at the same time with new ones of the same type. Dispose of old batteries responsibly according to local regulations.

5.3 Sensor Care

Periodically check the outdoor sensor for any debris, dust, or insect nests that might obstruct the ventilation openings and affect readings. Keep the sensor's display clean for optimal visibility.
