Setup

Before first use, ensure all components are present and assemble the unit as per the Quick Start Guide. The cleaner features a dual tank system for clean and dirty water.

Filling the Clean Water Tank

1. Remove the clean water tank from the main unit.
2. Unscrew the cap and fill the tank with water up to the indicated "WATER" fill line. Do not use water hotter than 140°F (60°C).
3. Add the Shark Deep Clean Essential formula up to the "CONCENTRATE" fill line.
4. Securely screw the cap back on and reinsert the tank into the main unit.

Operating Instructions

The Shark CarpetXpert offers versatile cleaning for various surfaces.

Carpet and Area Rug Cleaning

1. Ensure the clean water tank is filled and the dirty water tank is empty.
2. Plug in the unit and turn on the power.
3. Push the cleaner forward while holding the trigger to apply cleaning solution.
4. Pull the cleaner backward to extract the dirty solution and dry the carpet. Repeat passes without holding the trigger to further dry the area.

Spot and Upholstery Cleaning

For targeted cleaning of spots, stains, and upholstery, use the handheld tools.

1. Attach the desired tool (3.5" Reversible Bristle Tool, Integrated Crevice Tool, or 7" Wide-Path Tool) to the hose.
2. Turn on the unit. For wet stains, spray solution onto the stain by pressing the trigger on the handheld tool.
3. Scrub the stain with the tool's bristles, then tilt the tool to extract the dirty solution. Repeat as necessary.
4. For faster drying, make additional passes without spraying solution.

Emptying and Cleaning the Dirty Water Tank

1. When the dirty water tank is full (indicated by the MAX fill line), remove it from the main unit.
2. Open the tank's lid and carefully pour out the dirty water into a drain.
3. Rinse the tank thoroughly with clean water and allow it to air dry before reattaching.

Cleaning the Brushroll and Nozzle

The brushroll and nozzle cover can be removed for easy cleaning of trapped debris or hair. Refer to the owner's manual for detailed instructions on removing these components.

Troubleshooting

If your Shark CarpetXpert is not performing as expected, please refer to the following common issues:

• No Suction: Check if the dirty water tank is correctly seated and sealed. Ensure the hose is securely attached if using handheld tools.
• No Spray: Verify the clean water tank is filled with solution and properly installed. Check for any clogs in the spray nozzle.
