Setup

Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery cover on the back of the otter thermometer.
2. Press the small button on the battery cover and rotate it counter-clockwise using a coin or a suitable tool to open.
3. Insert two LR44 batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
4. Replace the battery cover by aligning it and rotating clockwise until it clicks securely into place. Ensure it is tightly sealed to maintain waterproof integrity.

Operating Instructions

Automatic Activation & Temperature Measurement

The thermometer automatically turns on when placed in water. It will display the current water temperature on its digital LCD screen. When removed from water, it will automatically turn off after approximately 10 minutes to conserve battery life.

Temperature Alerts

The thermometer features visual alerts for water temperature outside the recommended range for infants (typically 98°F to 100°F or 37°C to 38°C):

• Red Flashing Light: Indicates the water is too hot (above 102°F / 39°C).
• Blue Flashing Light: Indicates the water is too cold (below 86°F / 30°C).
• No Light: The water temperature is within the safe and comfortable range.

Switching Temperature Units (°F/°C)

To switch between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C), press the designated button on the back of the thermometer (refer to the battery cover diagram in the Setup section).

Room Temperature Monitoring

The thermometer can also be used to measure room temperature. Simply place it in the room where you wish to monitor the temperature. It will display the ambient temperature on its screen.

Maintenance

Cleaning

Clean the thermometer with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the product. The product is designed for hand washing only.

Battery Replacement

Follow the battery installation steps outlined in the Setup section. Always use two new LR44 batteries. Dispose of used batteries responsibly according to local regulations.

Troubleshooting

• Inaccurate Readings or Moisture under Screen: Ensure the battery compartment is securely closed and sealed. If moisture appears under the screen, dry the thermometer thoroughly and check the seal. If issues persist, contact customer support.
• Thermometer Not Turning On: Check if the batteries are correctly installed and have sufficient charge. Replace batteries if necessary.
• Temperature Alerts Not Activating: Verify that the water temperature is outside the set thresholds (below 86°F or above 102°F). If the temperature is within the safe range, no light will flash.
