Setup

1. Battery Installation (Main Unit)

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the main unit.
  2. Insert 3x AA batteries (not included) according to the polarity markings (+/-).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover.
  4. Alternatively, connect the provided power adapter to the main unit and a power outlet. Batteries can serve as backup power.

2. Battery Installation (Outdoor Sensor)

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the outdoor sensor.
  2. Insert 2x AA batteries (not included) according to the polarity markings (+/-).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover.

3. Sensor Placement

Place the outdoor sensor in a shaded area, protected from direct sunlight and rain, to ensure accurate temperature and humidity readings. The sensor is splash-proof (IP44) but prolonged exposure to heavy rain is not recommended. Ensure it is within 80 meters of the main unit, avoiding large metal objects or thick walls that may interfere with the radio signal.

4. Initial Synchronization

After inserting batteries into both units, the main unit will automatically search for the outdoor sensor. This process may take a few minutes. Once connected, the outdoor temperature and humidity will appear on the main unit's display.

5. Automatic Time and Date Setting (DCF)

The weather station is equipped with a DCF radio-controlled clock. Upon initial power-up, it will attempt to synchronize with the DCF time signal. This process can take several hours, especially in areas with weak signals. Ensure the unit is placed away from electronic interference.

6. Manual Time and Date Adjustment / Time Zone

If the DCF signal is not received or if you are in a different time zone, you may need to manually set the time and date. Refer to the specific button functions on the side of the main unit for detailed instructions on adjusting time, date, and time zone offset.

Operating the Weather Station

Display Layout

The LCD display provides a comprehensive overview of weather data. Key areas include:

  • Time and Date: Current time, day of the week, and date.
  • Indoor Temperature and Humidity: Readings from the main unit's internal sensors.
  • Outdoor Temperature and Humidity: Readings transmitted from the wireless outdoor sensor.
  • Weather Forecast: Graphical icons representing predicted weather conditions (e.g., sunny, cloudy, rainy).
  • Barometric Pressure: Current atmospheric pressure and a historical trend graph.
  • Moon Phase: Current moon phase indication.

Viewing Max/Min Values

The station records maximum and minimum temperature and humidity values for both indoor and outdoor environments. Press the designated button (often labeled 'MAX/MIN' or similar) to cycle through these recorded values.

Weather Forecast

The weather station analyzes barometric pressure changes to generate a weather forecast for the next 12-24 hours. The forecast is displayed using intuitive graphical icons.

Alarm Functions

  • Frost Warning: An icon or alert will appear when the outdoor temperature approaches freezing point, indicating potential frost conditions.
  • High/Low Alarms: You can set customizable high and low temperature/humidity alarms. The unit will alert you if the readings exceed or fall below your set thresholds.
  • Alarm Clock with Snooze: The integrated alarm clock can be set for daily wake-up. The snooze function allows for a temporary delay of the alarm.

Backlight and Dimmer

The display features a backlight for improved visibility in low-light conditions. A dimmer function may be available to adjust the brightness level.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the main unit and sensor with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries in both units when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Ensure correct polarity.
  • Storage: If storing the device for an extended period, remove all batteries to prevent leakage.
