RIDENOW TPU Gravel Inner Tube 700/32C-47C with 45mm Presta Valve User Manual

1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the RIDENOW TPU Gravel Inner Tube. This lightweight and durable inner tube is designed for gravel bicycles, offering enhanced performance and reliability. Made from high-performance TPU particles, it provides excellent tear resistance, high elasticity, and resistance to both cold and heat. This manual provides essential information for the proper installation, use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your inner tube.

2. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the performance and longevity of your TPU inner tube. Please follow these steps carefully:

  1. Prepare the Wheel: Remove the wheel from your bicycle. Carefully inspect the tire for any sharp objects, thorns, or debris that might have caused a puncture. Check the inside of the tire and the rim strip for any irregularities.
  2. Remove Old Inner Tube: If replacing an old tube, deflate it completely and use tire levers to carefully remove one bead of the tire from the rim. Extract the old inner tube.
  3. Pre-inflate the TPU Tube: Lightly inflate the new RIDENOW TPU inner tube until it just takes shape. This prevents it from twisting or pinching during installation.
  4. Insert Valve: Insert the Presta valve of the TPU tube through the valve hole in the rim. Secure it with the valve nut, but do not overtighten yet.
  5. Position the Tube: Carefully tuck the lightly inflated TPU inner tube inside the tire, ensuring it is evenly distributed and not twisted. TPU material is flexible but requires careful handling to avoid pinching.
  6. Mount the Tire: Starting from the valve, work your way around the rim, pushing the second tire bead back onto the rim. Use your thumbs or tire levers if necessary, being extremely careful not to pinch the inner tube between the tire bead and the rim.
  7. Final Inflation: Before fully inflating, check that the tire beads are seated correctly on both sides of the rim. Inflate the tube to the recommended pressure range indicated on your tire sidewall. Do not exceed the maximum pressure. Tighten the valve nut once the tube is fully inflated.

3. Operation and Usage

The RIDENOW TPU Gravel Inner Tube is designed for optimal performance on gravel bikes. It is compatible with 700c wheels and tire widths ranging from 32C to 47C. The 45mm Presta valve is suitable for most rim depths.

  • Tire Pressure: Always inflate your tires to the pressure recommended by your tire manufacturer, typically found on the tire sidewall. Do not overinflate or underinflate.
  • Regular Checks: TPU inner tubes may experience a slightly faster air loss compared to traditional butyl tubes. It is advisable to check your tire pressure before each ride to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Valve Type: This inner tube features a Presta valve. Ensure you use a pump compatible with Presta valves or an appropriate adapter.

4. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and performance of your RIDENOW TPU inner tube, consider the following maintenance tips:

  • Pressure Monitoring: Regularly check and maintain the correct tire pressure. Consistent pressure helps prevent pinch flats and extends tube life.
  • Puncture Repair: In case of a puncture, TPU inner tubes require special patches designed for TPU material. Standard butyl patches may not adhere effectively. The product includes a valve sticker, which can also be used as a patch.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the inner tube in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Prolonged exposure to direct sun can degrade TPU material.
  • Inspection: Periodically remove the tire and inner tube to inspect for any signs of wear, cuts, or embedded debris that could lead to future punctures.

5. Troubleshooting

Here are some common issues and their potential solutions:

  • Rapid Air Loss:
    • Cause: Puncture, improperly seated tire bead, loose valve core, or valve damage.
    • Solution: Inspect the tire and tube for punctures. Use a TPU-specific patch kit for repairs. Ensure the tire beads are fully seated on the rim. Check if the Presta valve core is tightened.
  • Slow Air Leak:
    • Cause: Small puncture, porous valve, or minor damage to the tube material.
    • Solution: Remove the tube and inflate it slightly. Submerge it in water to locate the leak by observing bubbles. Patch any small holes with a TPU-specific patch. Ensure the valve core is clean and tight.
  • Tube Pinching During Installation:
    • Cause: Tube caught between the tire bead and the rim during mounting.
    • Solution: Deflate the tube, partially unseat the tire bead, and carefully reposition the tube. Re-inflate slowly, checking that the tube is not pinched.
