Setup & Programming
After installation, you will need to program your fingerprints and set up the lock's functions.
Creating Administrator Fingerprints
Administrator fingerprints have full control over the lock's settings, including adding or deleting other users. You can register up to 2 administrator fingerprints.
- Rotate the interior knob to the OFF position.
- Insert a toothpick or similar thin object into the small circular hole on the interior knob and press the setting button once. The lock will beep and the indicator light will turn blue.
- Place your finger on the fingerprint collector on the exterior knob. The indicator will turn green if successfully obtained. Repeat this 6 times, lifting your finger slightly and repositioning it between each scan to capture different angles of your fingerprint.
- Once 6 successful scans are registered, the lock will beep twice, and the indicator light will turn blue again.
- Wait for the blue light to go out to exit setting mode. The lock is now ready for normal use.

Operating Modes
The hiencetec Smart Door Lock offers several operating modes to suit your security and convenience needs.
Automatic Lock Function
The lock features a built-in sensor that automatically locks the door 5 seconds after it is closed. This ensures your home remains secure even if you forget to manually lock it.
The lock automatically engages after 5 seconds of the door being closed.
Silent Mode
To activate silent mode, rotate the exterior knob 5 times continuously. In silent mode, the locking and unlocking operations will not produce any sound.

Passage Mode
Passage mode allows anyone to open the door by simply turning the handle, without requiring a fingerprint. This is useful for periods of high traffic or when you want the door to remain unlocked.
To activate passage mode, an administrator's fingerprint must be pressed down on the collector for 5 seconds without moving. The indicator light will turn pink, and you will hear 10 beeps. To deactivate, press any administrator or user fingerprint on the collector for 10 beeps, and the lock will return to its normal state.
Back Locking Function
When the back locking function is enabled, only administrator fingerprints can unlock the door. Regular user fingerprints will not be able to unlock it.
To enable this function, rotate the interior knob to the ON position. If the indicator is white when a user attempts to unlock by fingerprint, the back locking function is enabled. To disable, rotate the interior knob to the OFF position.

Battery Replacement
The biometric doorknob is powered by 4 AAA batteries (not included). When the batteries are low, the lock will emit 7 beeps and the indicator will blink red. Replace the batteries promptly to avoid loss of function.
Low battery alarm and emergency power port.
Important: Do not mix old and new batteries. Always replace all 4 batteries at once with new, high-quality AAA alkaline batteries.
Emergency Charging
In case the batteries are completely dead and you cannot unlock the door, the smart doorknob comes with a USB-C port for emergency power. Connect a USB-C cable to a power source (e.g., power bank, phone) to temporarily power the lock and gain entry. This port is for emergency power only and does not charge the internal batteries.
