Pump Installation (Near Water Heater):

  1. Turn off the water supply and power to your water heater.
  2. Drain a small amount of water from the hot water line to relieve pressure.
  3. Install the pump directly to the hot water outlet of your water heater.
  4. For water heaters with rigid, non-movable water supply pipes, additional tools may be required for installation.
  5. Water heaters with a flexible water supply line allow for simple DIY installation without additional tools. (Note: A flexible water heater supply line is not included).

Operating Instructions

The Watts Heat H2O system features a built-in programmable timer to customize its operation according to your household's hot water usage patterns.

Setting the Programmable Timer:

  1. The 24-hour dial has quarter-hour division tabs and AM/PM indications.
  2. Push the tabs inward for the periods you want the pump to operate (ON).
  3. Leave the tabs outward for the periods you want the pump to be inactive (OFF).
  4. You can set the timer to run for 24 hours a day or activate only during peak use times to conserve energy.

System Operation:

  • When the pump is active (according to the timer), the sensor valve opens if the water on the hot water side cools below 98°F.
  • Cool water is then pushed back to the water heater through the cold water supply line.
  • The sensor valve closes once the hot water line reaches 98°F, ensuring hot water is readily available.

    • Ensure the water heater is functioning properly and supplying hot water.
    • Verify that the sensor valve is correctly installed and not obstructed.
  • Water Not Hot Enough:
    • Confirm the water heater temperature setting is adequate.
    • Allow sufficient time for the system to circulate water, especially after initial setup or extended idle periods.
  • Leaks:
    • Inspect all connections for tightness. Turn off water supply before tightening.
