1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the assembly, operation, and maintenance of your GYI Big and Tall Office Chair. 2. Safety Information

WARNING: Do not exceed the maximum weight capacity of 400 lbs. Always assemble the chair according to the provided instructions to ensure stability and safety.

Ensure all components are securely fastened before use. Do not stand on the chair. Avoid placing the chair near heat sources or in direct sunlight for prolonged periods to prevent material degradation. Keep small parts away from children during assembly.

4. Setup and Assembly

The GYI office chair is designed for quick and convenient installation, typically taking about 15 minutes. All necessary hardware and tools are included.

Assembly Steps:

1. Unpack all components and verify against the parts list (not provided in this manual, refer to included packaging).
2. Attach the casters to the five-star base. Ensure they are securely inserted.
3. Insert the gas lift cylinder into the center hole of the five-star base.
4. Attach the seat plate mechanism to the underside of the seat cushion using the provided screws.
5. Place the assembled seat cushion onto the gas lift cylinder.
6. Attach the backrest to the seat cushion using the remaining screws.
7. Secure the armrests to both the seat and backrest.
8. Test all adjustments and ensure stability before regular use.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Seat Height Adjustment

To adjust the seat height, locate the lever on the right side under the seat. While seated, pull the lever up to raise the seat. To lower the seat, pull the lever up while applying slight body weight to the seat. Release the lever to lock the height in place.

5.2 Recline and Rocking Function

The chair features a rocking function that allows the backrest to recline between 90 and 120 degrees. To activate the rocking function, pull the left lever outwards. To lock the chair in an upright position, push the lever inwards. The tension of the rocking motion can be adjusted using the round knob located under the seat.

5.3 Lumbar Support Adjustment

The chair includes pneumatic adjustable lumbar support. To increase the lumbar support, locate the small pump bulb on the side of the chair and squeeze it repeatedly until the desired firmness is achieved. To decrease the lumbar support, press the small button on the pump bulb to release air.

5.4 Flip-Up Armrests

The armrests are designed to flip up, allowing the chair to be pushed closer to a desk or for increased freedom of movement. Simply lift the armrests upwards until they lock into the vertical position. To return them to the horizontal position, pull them down.

6. Maintenance

To maintain the quality and longevity of your GYI Office Chair, follow these simple care instructions:

• Cleaning: Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these may damage the PU leather.
• Inspection: Periodically check all screws and bolts to ensure they are tight. Re-tighten if necessary to maintain stability and safety.
• Casters: Keep the casters free of debris (hair, dust, etc.) to ensure smooth rolling.
• Avoid Direct Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause the PU leather to fade or crack.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your GYI Office Chair, please refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:

• Chair Squeaks: Check and tighten all screws. A small amount of silicone lubricant can be applied to moving parts if the squeaking persists.
• Difficulty Adjusting Height: Ensure the gas lift lever is fully engaged. If the chair does not raise or lower, the gas lift cylinder may need replacement.
• Chair Wobbles: Verify that all legs of the base are properly inserted and that the casters are securely attached. Ensure the seat plate mechanism is tightly fastened to the seat.
• Lumbar Support Not Inflating/Deflating: Check the pump bulb and its connection for any leaks or disconnections. Ensure the release button is not stuck.
