1. Introduction
This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and efficient use of your Aoleaby JK Smart BMS B2A24S20P. This Battery Management System is designed for LiFePO4 lithium batteries, supporting configurations from 8S to 24S with a 200A charge/discharge current and 2A active balance. It features Bluetooth, RS485, CAN communication, and a heating function for optimal battery performance.
The JK Smart BMS actively balances voltage differences between battery cells, enhancing battery usage efficiency up to 99% and extending battery life. It offers comprehensive protection against over-charge, over-discharge, over-current, short circuit, and includes low-temperature charging cutoff.
2. Safety Information
- Always ensure proper polarity when connecting the BMS to the battery pack. Incorrect wiring can cause severe damage to the BMS, battery, or connected equipment.
- Installation should be performed by qualified personnel with experience in battery systems.
- Do not expose the BMS to water, moisture, or extreme temperatures outside its operating range.
- Ensure all connections are secure and properly insulated to prevent short circuits.
- Verify the voltage and cell count of your battery pack match the BMS specifications before connection.
- In case of smoke, unusual odors, or excessive heat, immediately disconnect the battery pack and consult a professional.
3. Package Contents
Upon unpacking, verify that all components are present and undamaged:
- 1 x Aoleaby JK Smart BMS B2A24S20P Unit
- 1 x Balance Wire Harness
- 1 x Temperature Sensor (if applicable to model variant)
- 1 x Communication Cable (RS485/CAN, if applicable to model variant)
4. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is critical for the performance and safety of your battery system. Follow these steps carefully:
4.1 Wiring Diagram Overview
The BMS features main terminals for battery negative (B-) and load/charger negative (P-), along with a series of balance wire connections (B1, B2, ... B24, B+). The heating function (if present) and communication ports (BT, RS485, CAN) are also integrated.

Figure 1: Front view of the Aoleaby JK Smart BMS B2A24S20P, showing the main terminals (P-, B-) and the balance wire connection points. The model number B2A24S20P is visible, along with key specifications like 2A balance current, 8S-24S battery strings, and 200A charge/discharge current.
4.2 Connection Procedure
- Connect B- Terminal: Connect the main negative terminal of your battery pack to the B- terminal on the BMS. Use appropriate gauge wire for the expected current.
- Connect Balance Wires: Starting from the lowest cell (B1), connect each balance wire to its corresponding positive terminal on the battery cells. Ensure the order is correct (B1 to cell 1 positive, B2 to cell 2 positive, and so on) up to B+. Connect the B+ wire to the positive terminal of the entire battery pack. It is crucial to connect balance wires in the correct sequence to prevent damage.
- Connect P- Terminal: Connect the load/charger negative terminal to the P- terminal on the BMS. This is the common negative point for both charging and discharging.
- Connect Temperature Sensors: If included, connect the temperature sensors to the designated ports on the BMS and place them strategically on the battery cells for accurate temperature monitoring.
- Connect Communication Cables: If using RS485 or CAN communication, connect the respective cables to the BMS and your external communication device (e.g., inverter, display).
After all connections are made, double-check every wire for correct placement and secure fastening before applying power.
5. Operating Instructions
The JK Smart BMS is primarily managed and monitored via its dedicated mobile application, accessible via Bluetooth.
5.1 Mobile Application (APP)
The JK BMS features its own developed application for detailed monitoring and configuration. Download the official JK BMS APP from your smartphone's app store (iOS/Android).
5.2 Bluetooth Connection
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
- Open the JK BMS APP. The app will scan for nearby BMS devices.
- Select your BMS from the list of available devices to establish a connection.

The right screen shows various settings and controls such as charge/discharge toggles, balance control, emergency functions, and communication port selection (CAN/RS485).
5.3 APP Functions
- Real-time Status: View battery voltage, current, power, remaining capacity, cell voltages, temperature, and cycle count.
- Active Balance: Monitor and control the 2A active balancing process to equalize cell voltages.
- Charge/Discharge Control: Enable or disable charging and discharging functions.
- Parameter Settings: Adjust various protection parameters such as over-voltage, under-voltage, over-current thresholds, and temperature limits.
- Communication Settings: Configure RS485 and CAN communication parameters if applicable.
- Heating Function: Control the integrated heating function for low-temperature charging (if your model includes this feature).
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and reliability of your JK Smart BMS and battery system:
- Periodically inspect all wiring connections for tightness and corrosion.
- Keep the BMS unit clean and free from dust and debris.
- Monitor battery cell voltages and temperatures via the APP regularly to detect any anomalies early.
- Ensure the BMS is installed in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating.
- Update the BMS firmware via the APP if new versions are released by the manufacturer.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your JK Smart BMS, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- BMS Not Powering On: Check main battery connections (B-, B+) and ensure the balance wires are correctly connected in sequence.
- Bluetooth Connection Issues: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone, the BMS is powered, and you are within range. Restart the APP or your phone if necessary.
- Battery Not Charging/Discharging: Check for over-voltage, under-voltage, or over-current protection triggers in the APP. Verify charger/load connections.
- Cell Imbalance: The 2A active balance should address imbalances. If persistent, check individual cell connections and the balance wire harness for damage.
- Over-temperature Protection: Ensure adequate ventilation around the battery and BMS. Check temperature sensor placement and functionality.
For issues not covered here, consult the manufacturer's support or a qualified technician.
