  • POWER Button: Long press for 3 seconds to turn on/off.
  • MODE Button: Press to cycle through the 6 detection modes: ALL METAL, DISC, NOTCH, MEMORY, JEWELRY, and PP.
  • BRI/VOL Button: Adjusts screen brightness and volume.
  • SENS Button: Adjusts detection sensitivity.
  • PP Button: Pinpoints the exact location of the target.
  • +/- Buttons: Used to adjust values for brightness, volume, sensitivity, and to select target types in Notch mode.

3. Detection Modes

The OMMO metal detector offers 6 distinct detection modes to suit various searching needs:

Image: Visual representation of the six operational modes: All Metal (A-M) for detecting all types of metal, Disc for eliminating unwanted metal, Jewelry for detecting jewelry, Notch for freedom to eliminate unwanted metals, Memory for detecting only memorized metals, and PP for locating the target.

  • ALL METAL Mode: Detects all types of metal without discrimination. Ideal for general searching.
  • DISC Mode: Allows you to reject unwanted metal types (e.g., iron trash) by setting a discrimination level.
  • NOTCH Mode: Enables you to eliminate specific metal categories from detection by selecting them on the screen.
  • JEWELRY Mode: Optimized for finding jewelry such as rings, bracelets, and necklaces.
  • PP (Pinpoint) Mode: Used to precisely locate the target after a general detection. Press and hold the PP button to activate.
  • MEMORY Mode: Remembers the last mode you set, allowing for quick recall of your preferred settings.

4. Adjusting Brightness, Volume, and Sensitivity

The OMMO detector allows for fine-tuning of its operational parameters:

  • Brightness: Press the BRI/VOL button, then use the +/- buttons to adjust screen brightness for optimal visibility in various lighting conditions.
  • Volume: Press the BRI/VOL button again, then use the +/- buttons to adjust the audio volume of detection signals.
  • Sensitivity: Press the SENS button, then use the +/- buttons to adjust the detector's sensitivity. Higher sensitivity increases detection depth but may also increase false signals in mineralized ground.

5. Using the IP68 Waterproof Search Coil

The 10-inch search coil is IP68 rated, allowing for underwater detection in shallow water. IMPORTANT: The control box is NOT waterproof. Ensure the control box remains dry and above water at all times.

  • Store the detector in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Avoid storing the detector in areas with high humidity.

3. Battery Care

  • Always use high-quality 9V batteries.
  • Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the LCD screen to ensure optimal performance.
  • Dispose of used batteries responsibly according to local regulations.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No powerBatteries are dead or incorrectly installed.Replace batteries or check polarity.
Erratic signals / False signalsHigh sensitivity setting; electromagnetic interference; mineralized ground.Reduce sensitivity; move away from power lines/electronics; use DISC or NOTCH mode.
No detection / Weak signalsLow sensitivity setting; coil not properly connected; target too deep.Increase sensitivity; check coil cable connection; sweep slower.
LCD screen is dimLow battery; brightness setting too low.Replace batteries; adjust brightness using BRI/VOL button.
