6. Operating Instructions

6.1 General Operation

1. Prepare the Area: Clear any standing water or debris from the drain opening. Wear protective gloves.
2. Insert Cable: Gently feed the cable into the drain opening. For general drains, use the tool directly. For toilets, ensure the extension tube is attached.
3. Power On and Feed: Press the trigger to activate the motor. The speed is variable based on trigger pressure. Use the forward/reverse switch (F/R) to control the cable direction. Push the cable into the drain until resistance is met, indicating a blockage.
4. Clear Blockage: Once the cable reaches the blockage, allow the rotating cable to work through it. Move the cable back and forth slightly to help break up the obstruction.
5. Retract Cable: After clearing the blockage, switch the F/R lever to the reverse position and slowly retract the cable from the drain.

8. Troubleshooting

8.1 Cable Will Not Retract

If the cable does not retract automatically:

1. Ensure the F/R switch is in the "0" (neutral) position.
2. Manually pull out the entire cable from the drum.
3. Switch the F/R lever to the "R" (reverse) position and attempt to retract the cable.

8.2 Emergency Cable Stuck in Pipe

If the cable becomes severely stuck in the pipe and cannot be pulled out:

1. Press the F/R lever to the "R" (reverse) position.
2. While holding the lever, gently rotate the cable drum manually to assist in freeing the cable.
