2.2. Firmware Update
Regular firmware updates ensure your controller has the latest features and bug fixes. Follow these steps to update the firmware:
- Visit the official support website: cosmoxgaming.com/support/
- Download the latest firmware (.uf2 file) and the flash_nuke.uf2 file for your specific model.
- Enter Bootloader Mode: There are two methods:
- Method 1: Locate the bootloader button (a small pinhole on the back of the controller). Press and hold this button with a pin while connecting the controller to your computer via USB. A removable disk named "RP1-RP2" will appear.
- Method 2: Connect the controller to your computer normally. Press and hold the Start + X + Y buttons for more than 5 seconds. The screen will freeze, and "RP1-RP2" will be displayed, indicating bootloader mode.
- Drag and drop the `flash_nuke.uf2` file into the "RP1-RP2" drive. This will clear all previous data. The drive will temporarily disconnect and then reconnect.
- Drag and drop the latest firmware file (e.g., `GP2040-CE_X.X.X_Haute42_COSMOX.uf2`) into the "RP1-RP2" drive. Wait for the file to copy completely. The drive will disconnect, and the controller will automatically restart with the new firmware.

- Switch and Keycap Replacement: Thanks to the hot-swappable design, individual switches and keycaps can be replaced. Use the provided switch puller to carefully remove switches. Ensure the controller is disconnected from power before attempting any replacements.
- Storage: Store the controller in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
5. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your controller, refer to the following common solutions:
- Controller Not Recognized by PC/Console:
- Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the controller and the device.
- Try a different USB port or cable.
- Verify the correct input mode is selected for your platform (refer to Section 3.1).
- For PS4/PS5/Xbox One, confirm that the authentication dongle is correctly connected to the EXT port and the console to the Type-C port.
- PS4/PS5 Timeout After 8 Minutes: This indicates a lack of proper authentication. Ensure you are using a compatible dongle connected to the EXT port and that the input mode is set to PS4 or PS5, with 'Host USB' in the web configurator.
- Buttons Not Responding:
- Check if the controller is in the correct input mode.
- If using hot-swappable switches, ensure they are fully seated. Try reseating or replacing the affected switch.
- Web Configurator Not Accessible:
- Ensure the controller is connected to the PC and in web configuration mode (hold Start while connecting, or Start+X+Y for 5 seconds).
- Verify you are entering the correct IP address: 192.168.7.1.
