5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Adjusting Channel Levels and EQ
- Set all channel faders to their lowest position and the main output faders to unity gain (0dB).
- Connect an audio source to a channel.
- Slowly increase the channel's GAIN knob until the signal peaks appropriately on the channel's level indicator, avoiding clipping.
- Adjust the 3-Band EQ (HIGH, MID, LOW) knobs to shape the tone of the individual channel.
- Slowly raise the channel fader to the desired listening level.
5.2 Using DSP Effects
- On the DSP effects section, use the PROGRAM knob to select one of the 99 available effects. The LCD screen will display the effect number.
- Adjust the EFF knob on each channel to send the desired amount of that channel's signal to the effects processor.
- Use the RETURN knob in the master section to control the overall level of the effects returning to the main mix.

5.3 Main Output Equalization
The dual 7-segment graphic equalizer allows for precise frequency shaping of the overall mix.
- Adjust the faders on the graphic equalizer to boost or cut specific frequency bands (e.g., 63Hz, 125Hz, 400Hz, 1kHz, 2.5kHz, 6.4kHz, 15kHz) for the left and right main outputs.
- Use this to compensate for room acoustics or to achieve a desired overall sound signature.
6. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your mixer.
- Cleaning: Regularly wipe the surface of the mixer with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Dust Protection: When not in use, cover the mixer to protect it from dust and debris.
- Storage: Store the mixer in a cool, dry place away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
- Fader and Knob Care: Avoid excessive force when operating faders and knobs. Keep them free from dirt and liquids.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your EX12 mixer, refer to the following common problems and solutions.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No power | Power cable disconnected, power outlet faulty, power switch off. | Check power cable connections, try a different outlet, ensure power switch is ON. |
| No sound output | Main faders down, speaker/amp off, incorrect output connections, channel muted. | Raise main faders, turn on speakers/amp, verify output cables, unmute channels. |
| No sound from a specific channel | Channel fader down, GAIN too low, channel muted, incorrect input connection. | Raise channel fader, increase GAIN, unmute channel, check input cable. |
| Bluetooth not connecting | Mixer not in Bluetooth mode, device too far, interference, already paired. | Ensure mixer is in Bluetooth mode, bring device closer, reduce interference, unpair from other devices. |
| USB recording/playback issues | Incorrect USB mode, computer not recognizing device, faulty USB cable. | Select correct USB mode on mixer, check computer's audio settings, try a different USB cable. |
