Please read and understand all safety warnings before using your riflescope. Improper use can lead to injury or damage to the product.

  • Never look directly at the sun or any bright light source through the riflescope. This can cause permanent eye damage.
  • Ensure the firearm is unloaded and pointed in a safe direction before mounting or adjusting the riflescope.
  • Always follow all firearm safety rules and local regulations.
  • Keep the riflescope and its accessories out of reach of children.
  • Avoid dropping the riflescope or subjecting it to severe impacts, as this may affect its optical alignment and structural integrity.

4. Setup and Mounting

Proper mounting is crucial for optimal performance and accuracy. This riflescope comes with 1-inch aluminum dovetail-style rings with a stop pin.

4.1 Mounting the Riflescope

  1. Ensure Firearm Safety: Before beginning, ensure the firearm is unloaded and the safety is engaged.
  2. Attach Rings to Mount: Secure the dovetail rings to your firearm's dovetail rail. Ensure the stop pin is engaged in a recess on the rail to prevent scope movement under recoil. Tighten the base screws of the rings securely, but do not overtighten.
  3. Place Riflescope in Rings: Carefully place the riflescope into the bottom halves of the rings. Ensure the riflescope is positioned so that the eyepiece is at a comfortable distance from your eye when shouldering the firearm.
  4. Attach Top Ring Halves: Place the top halves of the rings over the riflescope and align the screw holes. Insert the ring screws and tighten them evenly, alternating between screws, until the riflescope is held firmly but can still be rotated for reticle leveling.
  5. Level the Reticle: Look through the scope and ensure the vertical and horizontal lines of the Truplex reticle are perfectly level with the firearm. Once aligned, fully tighten all ring screws. Refer to your firearm's manual for recommended torque specifications for scope rings.

5. Operating Instructions

Familiarize yourself with the various adjustments on your Simmons riflescope to optimize your shooting experience.

5.1 Adjusting Magnification

The riflescope features a variable magnification range of 3x to 9x. To adjust the magnification, rotate the textured knurled ring located near the eyepiece. Turn it clockwise to increase magnification and counter-clockwise to decrease it. The numbers on the ring indicate the current magnification setting.

5.2 Windage and Elevation Adjustments

The riflescope is equipped with capped finger-adjustable windage and elevation turrets. These turrets are used to adjust the point of impact of your shots.

  1. Remove Caps: Unscrew the protective caps from the windage (side) and elevation (top) turrets.
  2. Adjust Elevation: To adjust the vertical point of impact, rotate the top elevation turret. Typically, turning it clockwise moves the point of impact down, and counter-clockwise moves it up. Each click represents a specific change in impact (e.g., 1/4 MOA per click).
  3. Adjust Windage: To adjust the horizontal point of impact, rotate the side windage turret. Turning it clockwise usually moves the point of impact right, and counter-clockwise moves it left.
  4. Replace Caps: Once adjustments are complete, replace the protective caps to prevent accidental changes and protect the turrets from elements.

5.3 Focusing and Parallax Adjustment

The riflescope features an adjustable objective parallax. Parallax is the apparent movement of the reticle in relation to the target when the eye is moved off the optical axis. Proper parallax adjustment ensures the reticle and target are in the same focal plane, eliminating this error.

  1. Adjust Eyepiece Focus: First, ensure the reticle is sharp. Point the scope at a plain, bright background (like the sky) and quickly glance through the eyepiece. Rotate the eyepiece until the reticle appears crisp and clear. Do not stare through the scope while adjusting.
  2. Adjust Objective Parallax: The objective lens housing can be rotated to adjust for parallax. While looking through the scope at your target, rotate the objective housing until the target appears sharp and clear, and there is no apparent shift between the reticle and the target when you move your head slightly. The markings on the objective housing indicate approximate distances.

6. Maintenance and Care

Proper care will ensure the longevity and performance of your Simmons riflescope.

  • Cleaning Lenses: Use a soft, clean lens cloth or a lens brush to remove dust and loose debris. For smudges or fingerprints, use a lens cleaning solution specifically designed for optical lenses and apply it to a clean lens cloth, then gently wipe the lens surface. Avoid using abrasive cloths or harsh chemicals.
  • Cleaning Body: Wipe the riflescope body with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use solvents or harsh cleaners.
  • Waterproof/Fogproof: The riflescope is IPX7 waterproof and fogproof. While it can withstand immersion, it is best to wipe it dry after exposure to moisture. Do not attempt to disassemble the scope, as this will compromise its waterproof and fogproof seals.
  • Storage: Store the riflescope in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use the included bikini lens covers to protect the lenses when not in use.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your riflescope, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Blurry image or reticleImproper eyepiece focus or parallax adjustment.Adjust the eyepiece focus for a sharp reticle. Adjust the objective parallax for a clear target image and to eliminate reticle shift.
Point of impact shiftsLoose mounting rings or scope.Check and tighten all mounting ring screws. Ensure the dovetail stop pin is properly engaged.
Fogging inside the scopeExtreme temperature changes or compromised seal.Allow the scope to acclimate to the temperature. If fogging persists, the internal seal may be compromised; contact customer support.
Difficulty adjusting turretsTurret caps not fully removed or debris.Ensure turret caps are completely unscrewed. Check for any debris obstructing the turret mechanism.
