4.2 Temperature Monitoring
Some models may feature an external temperature display. If your case includes this feature, regularly check the display to ensure your medications remain within the safe temperature range (typically 35.6°F-46.4°F or 2°C-8°C for refrigerated insulin). 5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning the Case
- Wipe the exterior of the case with a damp cloth and mild soap if necessary.
- For the interior, use a clean, damp cloth to wipe down the aluminum foil lining. Do not submerge the case in water.
- Allow the case to air dry completely before storing or reusing.
5.2 Ice Pack Care
- The nylon ice packs are designed to be scratch-resistant and durable.
- If an ice pack becomes damaged or leaks, discontinue use and replace it.
- Store unused ice packs in the freezer for readiness.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1 Medications Not Staying Cold
- Ensure ice packs are frozen solid for at least 12 hours prior to use.
- Verify the case is securely zipped closed to prevent warm air from entering.
- Avoid opening the case frequently, as this can reduce cooling efficiency.
- In extremely hot environments, consider using additional ice packs or a larger cooler for longer durations.
6.2 Temperature Display Malfunction
- Check if the batteries for the temperature display need replacement. The case typically comes with extra batteries.
- Ensure the temperature probe (if detachable) is correctly inserted and making contact with the internal environment.
