4. Setup Instructions
4.1. Transmitter Setup
- Connect Antenna: Screw the included antenna onto the ANT connector on the rear panel of the transmitter.
- Power Connection: Connect the power adaptor to the DC Input (12V) on the transmitter and plug it into a power outlet.
- Audio Input: Connect your audio source (e.g., mixing console, instrument, microphone) to the LINE IN (XLR/TRS combo) or MIC IN (1/4" jack) inputs on the transmitter. Use Input 1 or Input 2 for line-level signals, and the MIC IN for microphone signals.
- Power On: Press the On/Off button on the transmitter to power it on. The LCD display will illuminate.
4.2. Receiver Setup
- Install Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the bodypack receiver and insert two AA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity.
- Connect Earphones: Plug the monitor earphones into the 3.5mm Earphone Jack on the bodypack receiver.
- Power On: Press the On/Off button on the bodypack receiver to power it on. The LCD display will illuminate.
4.3. Pairing Transmitter and Receiver
To establish a wireless connection, the transmitter and receiver must be paired to the same frequency channel:
- Select Channel on Transmitter: On the transmitter, use the UP/DOWN buttons to select a desired channel. The LCD will display the channel number and frequency.
- Initiate IR Sync: On the transmitter, press the SET button to activate the IR sync function. The IR indicator on the transmitter will flash.
- Sync Receiver: Hold the bodypack receiver with its IR sensor facing the IR sensor on the transmitter, typically within a few inches. The receiver's display will show a successful sync message or automatically switch to the selected channel.
- Verify Connection: Once synced, the receiver's LCD should display the same channel and frequency as the transmitter, and the signal strength indicator should show a stable connection.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Adjusting Audio Levels
- Transmitter Input Volume: Use the independent volume knobs for LINE IN 1, LINE IN 2, and MIC IN on the transmitter to adjust the input levels from your audio sources. Monitor the AF (Audio Frequency) level on the transmitter's LCD to avoid clipping.
- Receiver Output Volume: Use the VOLUME knob on the bodypack receiver to adjust the listening volume through your earphones.
5.2. Changing Frequencies
If you experience interference, you can change the operating frequency:
- On the transmitter, use the UP/DOWN buttons to select a different channel.
- Perform the IR sync procedure (Section 4.3) again to pair the receiver to the new frequency.
5.3. Transmitter Power Modes
The transmitter offers adjustable power modes (HI/LO) to optimize range and battery life (for the receiver, if applicable, or to reduce RF interference in close proximity).
- HI (High Power): Provides maximum transmission range (up to 262ft).
- LO (Low Power): Reduces transmission range, useful for shorter distances or to minimize interference with other wireless systems.
To change the power mode, use the SET button on the transmitter to navigate to the power setting and then use UP/DOWN to select HI or LO.
5.4. Using Multiple Receivers
One SGPRO transmitter can broadcast to an unlimited number of SGPRO bodypack receivers. Simply sync each additional receiver to the same channel as the transmitter using the IR sync function.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the surfaces of the transmitter and receiver. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Care: Remove batteries from the bodypack receiver if it will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
- Storage: Store the system in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Antenna Care: Handle antennas carefully to avoid bending or breaking. Ensure they are securely attached during use.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No sound from earphones | Receiver not powered on; low receiver battery; earphones not connected; volume too low; transmitter not powered on; transmitter and receiver not synced; incorrect audio input on transmitter. | Ensure receiver is on and has fresh batteries. Check earphone connection. Increase receiver volume. Ensure transmitter is on. Re-sync transmitter and receiver (Section 4.3). Verify audio source is connected to correct input on transmitter and input volume is adequate. |
| Interference or static | Operating on a crowded frequency; too far from transmitter; obstacles blocking signal. | Change to a different frequency channel (Section 5.2). Move closer to the transmitter. Ensure clear line of sight between transmitter and receiver antennas. Avoid placing the system near other wireless devices or large metal objects. |
| Short transmission range | Transmitter in LO power mode; environmental interference; antenna obstruction. | Set transmitter to HI power mode (Section 5.3). Re-evaluate antenna placement for optimal line of sight. Change frequency if necessary. |
| Receiver display is dim or off | Low or dead batteries. | Replace batteries in the bodypack receiver. |
