7. Maintenance & Cleaning
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your washing machine.
Exterior Cleaning
Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
Detergent Dispenser Cleaning
Periodically remove the detergent dispenser drawer and rinse it under running water to remove any detergent residue. Use a brush if necessary to clean stubborn buildup.
Drum Cleaning
Run a maintenance wash (e.g., a hot cotton cycle with no laundry and a small amount of detergent or a specialized washing machine cleaner) once a month to prevent odors and buildup.
Drain Filter Cleaning
The drain filter should be cleaned regularly (e.g., every few months or if you notice drainage issues). Refer to the diagram usually located near the filter cover at the bottom front of the machine. Place a shallow container to catch any residual water before opening the filter.
Water Inlet Filter Cleaning
If water supply is slow or interrupted, check the filter at the water inlet hose connection point. Close the water tap, disconnect the hose, and clean the filter mesh with a small brush.
Winterization (for cold environments)
If the machine is to be left in an unheated area during winter, drain all residual water to prevent freezing and damage. Consult a qualified technician if unsure.
