5. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps to make cotton candy:
- After setup, turn the power switch to the 'ON' position. The unit will begin to heat up. Allow the machine to preheat for approximately 5-10 minutes. This is crucial for proper cotton candy formation.
- Once preheated, turn the machine OFF. Using the included measuring spoon, carefully add one level spoonful of granulated sugar (regular table sugar or cotton candy sugar) directly into the center spinning head. Do not overfill.
- Immediately turn the power switch back to the 'ON' position. The spinning head will begin to rotate rapidly, and within moments, cotton candy strands will start to form around the bowl.
- Take one of the paper cones and hold it horizontally above the spinning head. Gently rotate the cone to collect the cotton candy strands as they emerge. Continue rotating and swirling the cone until all the sugar has been converted into cotton candy.
- Once the cotton candy stops forming, turn the machine OFF. If you wish to make more, allow the unit to cool slightly before repeating the process. For best results, clean the spinning head between batches if residue builds up.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and proper functioning of your cotton candy maker.
- Always unplug the unit from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Remove the clear plastic bowl from the base unit by unclamping it. The bowl is dishwasher safe or can be hand washed with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
- Carefully remove the orange spinning head. This part can also be hand washed with warm, soapy water. Ensure all sugar residue is removed. Dry completely before reassembling.
- Wipe the exterior of the main base unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the base unit in water or any other liquid.
- Ensure all parts are completely dry before storing or reassembling the unit.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your cotton candy maker, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Machine not turning on. | Not plugged in; power switch off; no power at outlet. | Ensure unit is securely plugged in; turn power switch to ON; check outlet with another appliance. |
| No cotton candy forming. | Not preheated long enough; too much sugar; sugar not added correctly; unit not hot enough. | Allow 5-10 minutes for preheating; use only one level spoonful of sugar; ensure sugar is added directly into the spinning head; ensure unit is hot before adding sugar. |
| Cotton candy is clumpy or hard. | Sugar type; humidity; unit not hot enough. | Use fine granulated sugar; operate in a low-humidity environment; ensure proper preheating. |
