Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage.
- Assembly (if required): Attach the extension arms to the main base if they are not pre-assembled. Ensure they are securely fastened.
- Placement: Place the tile cutter on a stable, level surface.
- Adjusting the Gauge: For straight cuts, align the measuring guide to the desired cutting dimension. For angled cuts, adjust the angle guide accordingly.
Operating Instructions
Preparing the Tile
- Clean the tile surface to remove any dust or debris.
- Mark the desired cut line on the tile using a pencil or marker.
Making a Straight Cut
- Position the Tile: Place the tile on the base plate, aligning your marked cut line with the scoring wheel path. Ensure the tile is flush against the measuring guide.
- Score the Tile: Position the scoring wheel at the edge of the tile furthest from you. Apply firm, consistent downward pressure on the scoring handle and push the wheel across the tile in a single, continuous motion towards you. A distinct scoring sound should be heard. Do not score the tile multiple times.
- Break the Tile: Once scored, position the breaking bar directly over the scored line. Apply quick, firm downward pressure on the breaking handle until the tile snaps cleanly along the score line.

Making an Angled Cut
- Adjust the Angle Guide: Loosen the locking mechanism for the angle guide and set it to the desired angle. Tighten the mechanism to secure the guide.
- Position and Score: Place the tile against the adjusted angle guide and follow the scoring procedure as described for straight cuts.
- Break the Tile: Break the tile along the scored line using the breaking bar.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: After each use, clean the tile cutter to remove tile dust and debris. Use a brush or compressed air.
- Lubrication: Periodically apply a light machine oil to the scoring rail and moving parts to ensure smooth operation.
- Scoring Wheel Replacement: Replace the scoring wheel when it becomes dull or chipped to ensure clean cuts. Refer to the manufacturer's specifications for compatible replacement wheels.
- Storage: Store the tile cutter in a dry, clean environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Uneven or jagged cuts | Dull or damaged scoring wheel; inconsistent pressure during scoring; tile not properly secured. | Replace scoring wheel; apply consistent pressure; ensure tile is flush against guides. |
| Tile not breaking cleanly | Insufficient scoring depth; breaking bar not aligned with score line; incorrect breaking technique. | Apply more pressure during scoring; ensure breaking bar is centered; apply quick, firm pressure. |
| Scoring handle sticks or moves roughly | Lack of lubrication; accumulated debris on rail. | Clean and lubricate the scoring rail. |
