Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Eonon E90A13 9-inch CarPlay Car Radio. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and use to ensure proper functionality and safety.
Applicable Models
The Eonon E90A13 head unit is compatible with the following BMW 3 Series models:
- BMW 3 Series 2005-2011 (E90/E91/E92/E93)
- BMW M3 2007-2012
Important Compatibility Notes:
- Before purchasing, verify your car radio's power cable connector. If your original car radio plug has 8 speaker wires, direct installation is possible. If not, an additional A0581 decoder box (not included) is required.
- If your car has an iDrive system and an LCD display, the E90A13 is not compatible.
- After removing the factory car radio, the air conditioning control panel can be installed using the included mounting bracket.
- If you wish to retain the functionality of original buttons (e.g., ashtray buttons), an ashtray button relocation kit (not included) may be required.
- If your factory car radio has an optical fiber input, installing the new radio may cause the dashboard screen to display an SOS prompt. This will not impact the performance of the stereo.

Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your Eonon E90A13 unit.
No Audio / Low Audio Output
- Check Amplifier Connection: Ensure the AMP trigger wire is correctly connected. Some users have reported issues with the 12V output for external amps dropping to 5V when plugged into the car connector side. If using an aftermarket amp, use the amp signal wire directly from the head unit side. If using the factory amp, you may need to splice 12V power from the CANBUS interface module's unused red wire.
- Fiber Optic Adapter: If your car has a fiber optic audio system, a fiber optic adapter kit (not included) may be required for sound output.
- EQ Settings: Adjust the equalizer settings. The unit may have default settings that do not suit your vehicle's audio system.
Bluetooth Connectivity Issues
- Automatic Connection: The unit should pair automatically with previously connected devices. If not, manually connect via the Bluetooth settings.
- Frequent Disconnections: Ensure no other devices are interfering with the Bluetooth signal. Try forgetting the device on both the phone and the head unit, then re-pairing.
- CarPlay/Android Auto Interference: If you experience frequent prompts to connect to CarPlay/Android Auto while trying to use Bluetooth audio, check the settings within the unit to prioritize Bluetooth or disable automatic CarPlay/Android Auto launch if not desired.
Audio/Video Lag
- Video Playback: A slight delay (e.g., 2 seconds) between video and audio can occur. This is generally more noticeable with video playback than with music or GPS.
- System Resources: Close unnecessary background applications to free up system resources.
Unit Not Powering On / Unstable Operation
- Power Connections: Double-check all power connections, including the main power cable and any accessory (ACC) wires. Ensure they are securely seated.
- Fuse Check: Inspect the 15A fuse included with the unit and any relevant vehicle fuses for continuity.
- Reset: If the unit becomes unresponsive or exhibits erratic behavior, try performing a soft reset (refer to the unit's interface for a reset button or option). A hard reset may involve disconnecting the car battery for a few minutes.
- Decoder Box: If an A0581 decoder box is required for your vehicle, ensure it is correctly installed and functioning. Issues with the decoder can prevent the unit from powering on or operating correctly.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the display and exterior. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Software Updates: Regularly check for and install available OTA firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Environmental Conditions: Avoid exposing the unit to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight for prolonged periods, or excessive moisture.
- Cable Management: Ensure all cables are properly routed and secured to prevent damage from vibration or movement.
