Model: KOLJX80F-3

Brand: Kolice

1. Introduction

This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and efficient operation, setup, and maintenance of your Kolice Automatic Electric Snowflake Ice Shaver, Model KOLJX80F-3. This machine is designed for producing shaved ice from various liquid bases, offering versatility for both home and commercial use.

The Kolice Snowflake Ice Shaver features a food-grade 304 stainless steel freezing roller and an air-cooling system, capable of producing up to 198 lbs (90 kg) of snowflake ice per day. Its microcomputer system allows for adjustable production speed, enabling different ice textures and shapes.

2. Safety Information

Please read all safety warnings and instructions carefully before operating the appliance to prevent injury or damage.

  • Ensure the machine is placed on a stable, level surface.
  • Do not operate the machine with wet hands or near water to avoid electric shock.
  • Keep hands and foreign objects away from moving parts during operation.
  • Unplug the machine from the power outlet before cleaning or performing any maintenance.
  • Use only the specified voltage (110V 60HZ) and a grounded outlet.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or sharp objects on the freezing roller or other components.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation around the machine due to its air-cooling system.

3. What's in the Box

4. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Kolice Snowflake Ice Shaver:

  1. Install the Material Box: The inclined side of the material box should be installed facing upward. Buckle the material box securely under the machine.
  2. Install the Dust-Proof Plate: Place the four ports of the dust-proof plate into their designated positions above the roller.
  3. Install the Material Bucket: Before installing the material bucket, check that the sealing ring of the cutting head is properly installed. After checking, ensure the back cover is tightened. Reverse the material bucket, and place the cutting head with the thimble of the material box.
  4. Install the Funnel (Optional): You can choose to install or not install the funnel. To install, simply hang both sides of the funnel on both sides of the blade.
  5. Connect Power: Connect the power cord to the machine and then to a grounded electrical outlet. Turn on the machine power switch; a red light indicates the machine is energized normally.

5. Operating Instructions

To operate your ice shaver:

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Fill the material bucket with your desired liquid base (e.g., milk, fruit juice, coffee, beer, wine, or other flavored juice). Ensure the juice contains sufficient sugar. DO NOT USE THICK YOGURT.
  2. Start Cooling: Turn on the drum speed using the control knob. Then, click the refrigeration button (ON/OFF) to start the compression mechanism for cooling.
  3. Adjust Production Speed: Use the speed control knob to adjust the rotation speed of the drum. A faster speed typically produces finer snowflake ice, while a slower speed with thicker liquid (more sugar) can create strip-shaped ice.
  4. Collect Ice: Once pre-cooling is complete, ice will begin to shave directly into your serving bowl or container.

6. Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance ensure optimal performance and longevity of your ice shaver.

  • Daily Cleaning: After each use, turn off the refrigeration by clicking the button. The drum speed does not need to be turned off. Pour normal warm water or warm water onto the drum and wipe it with a clean cloth until any remaining ice melts.
  • Deep Cleaning: Periodically disassemble the material box, dust-proof plate, and material buckets for thorough cleaning with mild soap and water. Rinse all parts completely and allow them to air dry before reassembly.
  • Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Kolice Snowflake Ice Shaver, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Machine does not turn on: Check if the power cord is securely plugged into a grounded outlet and the machine. Ensure the power switch is in the 'ON' position and the red indicator light is illuminated.
  • No ice production: Verify that the refrigeration button has been pressed to initiate cooling. Allow sufficient time for the drum to reach freezing temperature (pre-cooling). Ensure the liquid base has adequate sugar content, as low sugar can affect freezing.
  • Ice texture is not as desired: Adjust the speed control knob. A higher speed generally produces finer, more 'snow-like' ice, while a lower speed can result in thicker, 'strip-like' ice, especially with denser liquids.
  • Liquid leaks: Check that the material bucket's sealing ring is correctly installed and the back cover is tightened securely. Ensure the material box is properly buckled under the machine.
