4. Setup
Follow these steps to set up your REES52 FS-MCore-A7670C module:
- Insert Nano SIM Card: Locate the NANO SIM tray on the module. Gently slide the SIM card into the tray until it locks into place. Ensure the SIM card is correctly oriented as indicated on the module.
- Connect Antenna: Attach the provided IPEX antenna to the corresponding connector on the module. Ensure a secure connection for optimal signal reception.
- Connect to Host Device: Use appropriate pin headers or connectors to interface the module with your host microcontroller or development board. Pay close attention to the pinout for VCC (5V), GND, TX, RX, and other control pins (PEN, NET, DTR). The I/O logic level is 3.3V TTL.
- Power On: Apply a stable 5V power supply to the VCC and GND pins. Observe the LED indicators:
- Power LED: Should illuminate steadily when power is applied.
- Network LED: Will blink to indicate network registration status. A slow blink typically means searching for network, a faster blink means registered.

5. Operating Instructions
Once the module is set up and powered, you can interact with it using AT commands via the serial interface (TX/RX pins). Refer to the A7670C AT Command Manual for a complete list of commands.
5.1. Data Communication
To establish data communication (e.g., internet access):
- Ensure the module is registered to the network (Network LED blinking).
- Configure APN settings using AT commands (e.g.,
AT+CSTT="APN_NAME"). - Establish a GPRS/LTE connection (e.g.,
AT+CIICR). - Use TCP/IP commands for data transfer (e.g.,
AT+CIPSTART,AT+CIPSEND).
5.2. SMS Functionality
The module supports sending and receiving SMS messages:
- Set SMS text mode (e.g.,
AT+CMGF=1). - Send SMS (e.g.,
AT+CMGS="+91XXXXXXXXXX"followed by message content and CTRL+Z). - Read SMS (e.g.,
AT+CMGR=1).
5.3. GPS/GNSS Positioning
For location services:
- Activate GPS/GNSS functionality using AT commands.
- Query location data (e.g.,
AT+CGNSINF). - Ensure the module has a clear view of the sky for optimal satellite reception.
6. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and reliable operation of your module:
- Keep Dry: Avoid exposure to moisture or liquids.
- Clean Gently: If cleaning is necessary, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals.
- Proper Storage: Store the module in a cool, dry environment when not in use.
- Handle with Care: Avoid dropping or subjecting the module to physical shock.
- Power Supply: Always use a stable and regulated 5V power supply.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your module, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Module not powering on. | Incorrect power supply voltage or polarity. Loose power connection. | Verify 5V power supply. Check all power connections. |
| Network LED not blinking or constantly on. | No SIM card. Invalid SIM card. Poor network coverage. Antenna not connected or faulty. | Ensure SIM card is inserted correctly and active. Check network coverage. Reconnect or replace antenna. |
| Cannot send/receive data or SMS. | Module not registered to network. Incorrect APN settings. Incorrect AT commands. | Verify network registration. Check APN settings. Consult A7670C AT Command Manual for correct commands. |
| GPS/GNSS not acquiring fix. | Poor satellite visibility. GPS functionality not enabled. | Move to an open area with clear sky view. Ensure GPS is enabled via AT commands. |
