Setup

Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
  2. Slide the cover open.
  3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Note: Always use fresh batteries and remove them if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.

Operating Instructions

Power On/Off

  • Press the ON/INC/ABS/OFF key once to turn the device on.
  • Press and hold the ON/INC/ABS/OFF key for approximately 3 seconds to turn the device off.

Absolute and Relative Measurement Modes

The device offers two measurement modes:

  • Absolute Mode (ABS): Measures the angle relative to a true horizontal plane. When the device is powered on, it defaults to Absolute Mode. The display will show 'ABS'.
  • Relative Mode (INC): Measures the angle relative to a user-defined zero surface. This is useful for finding the difference in angle between two surfaces or setting a specific angle relative to a non-level reference.

To switch between modes, press the ON/INC/ABS/OFF key briefly while the device is on. The display will indicate 'ABS' for Absolute Mode or 'INC' for Relative Mode.

Using Relative Mode:

  1. Place the level on your desired reference surface.
  2. Press the ON/INC/ABS/OFF key to enter Relative Mode ('INC' will be displayed). The current angle will be set as 0.0°.
  3. Move the level to the surface you wish to measure. The display will show the angle relative to your set zero point.

Hold Function

Press the HOLD/LIGHT key briefly to freeze the current reading on the display. The 'HOLD' indicator will appear. Press the key again to release the hold and resume live measurement.

Backlight Control

Press and hold the HOLD/LIGHT key for approximately 2 seconds to turn the LCD backlight on or off. This feature is useful in dimly lit environments.

Always Vertical Reading

The digital display automatically inverts the numbers when the level is upside down, ensuring that the reading is always presented upright and easy to read.

Using the Magnetic Base

The strong magnets on the base allow the level to be securely attached to ferrous metal surfaces, providing stability for hands-free measurements. This is particularly useful for tasks involving metal framing, pipe installation, or machinery setup.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the level in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for extended periods, remove the batteries.
  • Avoid Impact: While rugged, avoid dropping or subjecting the device to strong impacts, as this can affect its accuracy.

Troubleshooting

  • Display Not Working: Check if the batteries are correctly installed and have sufficient charge. Replace batteries if necessary.
  • Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the measurement surface is clean and free of debris. Recalibrate the device if persistent inaccuracies occur (refer to specific calibration instructions if provided in a separate document, or contact support).
  • Backlight Not Activating: Ensure you are pressing and holding the HOLD/LIGHT key for at least 2 seconds.
