3. Setup Instructions
Follow these steps for proper assembly of your PURPLE LEAF Patio Market Umbrella:
3.1. Base Assembly
The base provides essential stability for the umbrella. Ensure it is properly weighted.
- Set the Base Frame: Place the metal base frame on a flat, stable surface.
- Fill Sandbags: Fill both provided sandbags with sand (each up to 70 pounds) to ensure maximum stability.
- Place Sandbags: Position the filled sandbags securely within the base frame.
- Place the Cover: Drape the base cover over the sandbags and base frame for a neat appearance and protection.

3.2. Umbrella Pole and Canopy Attachment
- Insert Pole: Carefully insert the main umbrella pole into the designated opening in the assembled base.
- Secure Pole: Tighten the securing knobs or bolts on the base to firmly hold the umbrella pole in place.
- Attach Canopy: Ensure the canopy is correctly aligned and attached to the pole mechanism.

4. Operating Instructions
The PURPLE LEAF Patio Market Umbrella features a convenient crank mechanism for easy opening and closing.
4.1. Opening the Umbrella
- Ensure the umbrella is securely anchored in its base.
- Locate the aluminum crank handle on the main pole.
- Turn the crank handle clockwise to slowly extend and open the umbrella canopy until it is fully open and taut.
- Once fully open, engage the advanced chain lock pin mechanism to firmly secure the umbrella, especially in breezy conditions.

4.2. Closing the Umbrella
- Disengage the advanced chain lock pin mechanism if it was used.
- Turn the crank handle counter-clockwise to retract and close the umbrella canopy.
- Continue cranking until the canopy is fully closed and compact.
- For long-term storage or during severe weather, it is recommended to secure the closed canopy with any provided ties or covers.

5. Maintenance
Proper maintenance will extend the life and appearance of your umbrella.
- Cleaning the Canopy: Use mild soap and water with a soft brush or cloth to clean the polyester fabric. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before closing or storing. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Frame Care: Wipe down the powder-coated steel frame with a damp cloth periodically to remove dirt and debris. Inspect for any signs of rust or damage.
- Lubrication: Occasionally apply a silicone-based lubricant to the crank mechanism and moving parts to ensure smooth operation.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, especially during off-season or severe weather, close the umbrella and store it in a dry, protected area. A protective cover is recommended.
