Setup and Initial Use

1. Setting the Time

  1. Pull the crown (located on the right side of the watch case) out to the first click position.
  2. Rotate the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to set the hour and minute hands to the correct time.
  3. Once the time is set, push the crown back into its original position.

2. Setting the Date and Day

Your multifunction watch features sub-dials for date and day indication. The specific method for setting these may vary slightly by movement, but generally involves the crown or dedicated pushers.

  • For date adjustment: Gently pull the crown out to the first click (if applicable, or second click if time setting is first). Rotate the crown to advance the date.
  • For day adjustment: Use the dedicated pusher (if present, often a small recessed button on the side of the case) or rotate the crown in the opposite direction to advance the day.
  • After setting, ensure the crown is fully pushed back in to maintain water resistance.

Note: Avoid setting the date or day between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can interfere with the automatic date change mechanism and potentially damage the movement.

Operating Your Watch

Timekeeping

The watch operates on a precise quartz movement, providing accurate time. The hour, minute, and second hands indicate the current time.

Multifunction Sub-dials

This watch is equipped with multifunction sub-dials that typically display:

  • Day Indicator: Shows the current day of the week.
  • Date Indicator: Displays the current date of the month.
  • 24-Hour Indicator: Some models may include a 24-hour sub-dial synchronized with the main time, useful for distinguishing AM/PM.

These functions operate automatically once set. If the date or day needs correction (e.g., after a month with fewer than 31 days), refer to the "Setting the Date and Day" section.

Maintenance and Care

  • Cleaning: Wipe the watch case and strap regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For stainless steel, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by drying. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Water Resistance: Your Fastrack watch has a specific water resistance rating of 5 ATM / 50 meters. This rating indicates suitability for splashes, rain, and brief immersion, but not for swimming, diving, or hot showers. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in to maintain water resistance.
  • Temperature: Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures (hot or cold) or sudden temperature changes, as this can affect the movement and battery life.
  • Magnetic Fields: Keep the watch away from strong magnetic fields (e.g., speakers, refrigerators, mobile phones) as they can affect the accuracy of the quartz movement.
  • Battery Replacement: When the watch stops or the second hand starts skipping (indicating low battery), have the battery replaced by an authorized Fastrack service center or a qualified watch technician. Using incorrect battery types or improper installation can damage the movement.
