1. Introduction

This kit provides a reliable and efficient power solution for all your Scheppach IXES 20V cordless tools. It includes a 20V / 4.0 Ah battery and a compact 2.4 A charger, designed for maximum flexibility and simplified use with a single battery system. Please read this manual carefully before first use to ensure safe and optimal operation of your product.

2. Safety Instructions

Always observe the following safety precautions to prevent electric shock, fire, and serious injury.

• Read all instructions: Before using the battery and charger, read all instructions and cautionary markings on the charger, battery, and product using the battery.
• Charge only Scheppach IXES batteries: This charger is designed exclusively for Scheppach IXES 20V Lithium-Ion batteries. Do not attempt to charge other types of batteries, as this may cause personal injury and damage.
• Avoid hazardous environments: Do not charge the battery in damp or wet locations. Do not expose the charger to rain or snow.
• Maintain proper ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation during charging. Do not cover the charger or battery.
• Use appropriate power supply: Connect the charger only to a standard household power supply (230V AC, 50Hz).
• Inspect for damage: Do not use the charger or battery if they have been dropped, received a sharp blow, or are damaged in any way. Contact customer service for inspection.
• Do not short-circuit: Never short-circuit the battery terminals.
• Do not incinerate batteries: Batteries may explode when incinerated. Dispose of batteries according to local regulations.
• Store properly: Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

4. Setup

4.1 Initial Battery Charge

1. Connect the charger to a suitable power outlet. The charger's LED indicator may light up briefly.
2. Slide the 20V / 4.0 Ah battery onto the charger until it clicks into place. Ensure a secure connection.
3. The charger's LED indicator will show the charging status. Refer to the 'Operating Instructions' section for LED indicator details.
4. Allow the battery to charge completely before first use. A full charge for the 4.0 Ah battery takes approximately 120 minutes.

4.2 Attaching Battery to Tool

Once charged, slide the battery into the battery slot of your Scheppach IXES 20V cordless tool until it locks securely. To remove, press the release button(s) on the battery and slide it out.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Battery Charge Level Indicator

The battery features a 3-level LED indicator to show the remaining charge capacity. Press the button on the battery to activate the indicator.

• 3 LEDs lit: Full charge (approx. 67-100%)
• 2 LEDs lit: Medium charge (approx. 34-66%)
• 1 LED lit: Low charge (approx. 1-33%). Recharge soon.
• 1 LED flashing: Battery almost empty. Recharge immediately.

5.2 Charger LED Indicator

The charger has an LED indicator that shows the charging status:

• Solid Red: Charging in progress.
• Solid Green: Charging complete.
• Flashing Red: Error (e.g., battery too hot/cold, faulty battery).

5.3 Intelligent Cell Management

The battery is equipped with individual cell management, which protects against overheating and overvoltage. This system ensures consistent charging and discharging processes, significantly extending the battery's lifespan and operating time by minimizing the risk of overcharging or deep discharge.

6.1 Cleaning

• Always disconnect the charger from the power supply before cleaning.
• Use a dry, soft cloth to clean the battery and charger.
• Do not use any liquids or abrasive cleaning agents.
• Keep the ventilation slots on the charger free from dust and debris.

6.2 Storage

• Store the battery and charger in a dry, frost-free environment.
• Ideal storage temperature is between 10°C and 20°C (50°F and 68°F).
• For long-term storage, charge the battery to approximately 50-70% capacity. Recharge every 6 months to prevent deep discharge.
• The robust housing with rubber coating provides excellent resistance to impacts, dust, and corrosion, ensuring durability.
• The charger features an integrated wall mount for convenient storage.
