Care and Maintenance
Daily Cleaning:
- Unplug: Always unplug the coffee maker before cleaning.
- Carafe: Wash the thermal carafe and its lid with warm, soapy water after each use. Rinse thoroughly. Do not immerse the carafe in water.

The thermal carafe should be cleaned after each use.
- Filter Basket: Remove and rinse the filter basket and permanent filter after each use. They are top-rack dishwasher safe.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
Descaling (Cleaning Cycle):
Mineral deposits (calcium) can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting performance and coffee taste. The coffee maker will display "CLEAN" when descaling is recommended.

The "CLEAN" indicator on the display signals it's time for descaling.
- Prepare Solution: Mix 8 ounces (1 cup) of white vinegar with 16 ounces (2 cups) of cold water. Pour the solution into the water reservoir.
- Run Cycle: Place the empty thermal carafe with its lid on the warming plate. Press the CLEAN button (or follow specific instructions in your full manual if a dedicated CLEAN button is not present, often it's initiated by holding BREW or PROG). The coffee maker will run a descaling cycle.
- Rinse Cycles: After the descaling cycle is complete, discard the solution. Fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water and run two full brewing cycles with only water to rinse out any remaining vinegar taste.
Perform descaling every 2-3 months, or more frequently if you have hard water or notice a "CLEAN" warning.
