Setup

Battery Installation

The RF-OSP-1200Y Rangefinder operates on one CR2 (3.0V DC) battery. To install or replace the battery:

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside or rear of the rangefinder.
  2. Open the battery cover by twisting or sliding it according to the indicator.
  3. Insert the CR2 battery with the positive (+) terminal facing the direction indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery cover securely.

Power On/Off

To power on the device, press the Power/Measure button (usually marked with a power symbol or 'M'). The display will illuminate. The device will automatically power off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery life.

Eyepiece Adjustment

Rotate the diopter adjustment ring on the eyepiece to bring the reticle and display into sharp focus for your vision. This ensures clear viewing of targets and measurement readings.

Operating Instructions

Measuring Distance

  1. Power on the rangefinder.
  2. Look through the eyepiece and aim the reticle at your desired target.
  3. Press the Power/Measure button once. The distance to the target will be displayed in the eyepiece.
  4. For continuous scanning, press and hold the Power/Measure button while sweeping across multiple targets. The distance will update continuously.

Mode Selection

The RF-OSP-1200Y may feature different measurement modes (e.g., standard ranging, golf mode with flag-lock, speed measurement). To cycle through modes, press the Mode button (usually marked 'M' or 'MODE'). Refer to the icons in the display for the active mode.

Unit Conversion

If available, press and hold the Mode button to switch between yards and meters. The current unit will be indicated in the display.

Maintenance

Cleaning

  • Lenses: Use a soft, clean microfiber cloth specifically designed for optics. Gently wipe the lens surfaces. For stubborn smudges, a small amount of lens cleaning solution can be applied to the cloth, not directly to the lens.
  • Body: Wipe the body of the rangefinder with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.

Storage

When not in use, store the rangefinder in its nylon case in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove the battery if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.

Battery Care

Always use the correct battery type (CR2, 3.0V DC). Dispose of used batteries responsibly according to local regulations. Do not mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries.
