4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to set up your TOWODE WiFi Home Security Alarm System:

4.1 Physical Installation of Sensors

The magnetic door/window sensors and infrared motion sensors are designed for easy installation. Use the provided double-sided tape or screws to attach them to desired surfaces.

• Magnetic Sensors: Ensure the sensor and its magnet are aligned and the gap between them is less than 10mm when the door/window is closed.
• Infrared Motion Sensors: Mount in a location that provides optimal coverage. Avoid facing the sensor directly towards windows, ovens, or air conditioners, as moving heat sources or wind can trigger false alarms.

4.2 App Download and Connection

The system uses the Tuya Smart App for control and notifications. Ensure your mobile phone is connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network (5GHz networks are not supported).

1. Download the Tuya Smart App from your device's app store.
2. Register or log in to your account.
3. Connect the alarm speaker to power.
4. Open the Tuya Smart App, enable Bluetooth on your phone, and press the pairing button on the alarm speaker for 3 seconds. The app should automatically detect the device.
5. Follow the on-screen prompts to add the device, confirm your time zone, and connect it to your 2.4GHz WiFi network. If your router has a 'dual-band-in-one' function, disable it temporarily during pairing.

4.3 Pairing Sensors and Remote Controls

Once the main speaker unit is connected to the app, you can pair the included sensors and remote controls.

1. In the Tuya Smart App, navigate to the 'Accessories' section for your WiFi speaker.
2. Select 'Add accessory' (or similar option).
3. Trigger each sensor (e.g., open a magnetic door sensor, wave hand in front of motion sensor) or press any button on the remote control. The app will confirm successful pairing.

5. Operating Instructions

The system can be operated via the Tuya Smart App or the provided remote controls.

5.1 Arming and Disarming

• Via App: Open the Tuya Smart App, select your WiFi speaker, and choose 'Arm' (Away Arm) or 'Disarm'. You can also set 'Home Arm' for partial arming.
• Via Remote Control: Use the 'Lock' button to arm the system and the 'Unlock' button to disarm it.

5.2 Emergency SOS Function

In an emergency, press the 'S' button on the remote control to activate the 120dB siren immediately. This can alert family members or neighbors to the situation.

5.3 App Notifications and Event Log

The app provides instant push notifications when the alarm is triggered. You can view a history of events in the app's log. Notifications can be disabled when you are home, and the system will still record events.

6.1 Battery Replacement for Infrared Sensors

Each infrared sensor is powered by one 9V 6F22 battery (included). Typically, the battery lasts for 3 to 4 months, but this can vary based on usage frequency.

• If the motion sensor's red light does not illuminate or it fails to trigger the main unit, it is time to replace the battery.
• To replace, open the sensor casing, remove the old battery, and insert a new 9V 6F22 alkaline battery, ensuring correct polarity.

7. Troubleshooting

• Alarm Not Triggering: Ensure sensors are correctly paired and within range (up to 300 feet). Check battery levels in wireless sensors.
• No App Notifications: Verify your phone is connected to the internet and app notifications are enabled in your phone's settings and within the Tuya Smart App. Confirm the main unit is connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network.
• False Alarms from Motion Sensor: Review sensor placement. Avoid areas with direct sunlight, strong air currents, or heat sources.
• Difficulty Pairing New Accessories: If you wish to add new accessories after initial setup, it is recommended to perform a factory reset on the main unit first, then re-pair all devices.
