1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Waterdrop TSB-ALK 8-Layer Alkaline Under Sink Water Filter System. This system is designed to provide clean, great-tasting, and mineral-enriched alkaline water directly from a dedicated faucet. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and use to ensure proper function and safety.
2. Safety Information
- This water filter system is designed exclusively for municipal tap water.
- Only use cold water sources with this filter system. Do not connect to hot water lines.
- If using well water as the source, ensure the feed water has been pre-filtered through an appropriate pre-filtration system (e.g., Waterdrop WD-PFK).
- Do not attempt to filter water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system.
- Ensure all connections are secure to prevent leaks.
- Keep the system away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
3. Product Overview
The Waterdrop TSB-ALK system features an advanced 8-stage filtration process, including alkaline filtration, to deliver high-quality drinking water. It effectively reduces common impurities while enriching your water with beneficial minerals.
3.1. Filtration Technology
This system utilizes three distinct filters for comprehensive purification:
- PP Filter (WD-10PP): Reduces sediment, sand, rust, and other large particles.
- GC Filter (WD-10GC): Utilizes KDF materials and ion exchange resin to reduce heavy metals, harmful substances, chlorine, taste, and odor.
- Alkaline Filter (WD-10ALK): Enriches water with beneficial minerals such as calcium, magnesium, sodium, and potassium, enhancing taste and supporting physical health.
The 8-stage deep filtration targets PFAS, PFOA/PFOS, fluoride, chlorine, bad taste, and odor, providing pure and healthy water. Note that this system does not reduce Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), as it retains beneficial minerals.

3.2. Product Features
- Dedicated Faucet: Provides a separate outlet for filtered water, keeping your main faucet free for other uses.
- Easy Installation: Twist-and-lock design allows for quick setup and filter replacement.
- Long Filter Lifespan: Filters last up to 12 months, reducing the frequency of replacements.
- Anti-Clogging Design: Upgraded filtration area offers a 20X increase in dirt adhesion, preventing clogging.

4. Setup
The Waterdrop TSB-ALK system is designed for easy DIY installation. Follow these steps to set up your filter system:
4.1. Prepare for Installation
- Unpack all components and ensure everything is present as per the parts list.
- Choose a suitable location under your sink, ensuring at least 2 inches of clearance from the ground for easier filter changes.
- Gather necessary tools: drill, screwdriver, adjustable wrench.
4.2. Mounting the Filter Head
- Use the provided assistant label to mark the drilling points on the cabinet wall under your sink.
- Drill holes at the marked points and insert the screws, leaving enough space to hang the filter head.
- Hang the filter head securely on the installed screws.

4.3. Connecting Water Supply and Faucet
- Shut off the cold water supply to your sink.
- Turn on your kitchen faucet to release any remaining water pressure.
- Disconnect the cold water pipe from the cold water supply valve.
- Connect the provided T-adapter to the cold water supply valve and the cold water pipe.
- Connect the inlet hose from the filter system to the T-adapter.
- If there is no existing hole in your kitchen sink or countertop for the dedicated faucet, you will need to drill a 1/2-inch hole. Alternatively, you can use an existing hole, such as one for a soap dispenser.
- Install the dedicated faucet through the drilled hole and secure it from underneath the sink.
- Connect the outlet hose from the filter system to the dedicated faucet. Ensure all tubing is fully inserted into the quick-connect fittings.
- Turn on the cold water supply valve slowly and check for any leaks.

5. Operation
Once installed, your Waterdrop TSB-ALK system is ready for use. Simply turn on the dedicated faucet to dispense filtered water.
5.1. Initial Flush
Before first use, flush the filter system by running water through the dedicated faucet for 5 minutes. This removes any carbon fines and prepares the filters for optimal performance.
5.2. Daily Use
Use the dedicated faucet for drinking, cooking, and other applications where purified water is desired. Your main kitchen faucet will continue to provide unfiltered tap water for washing and other tasks.

6. Maintenance
Regular filter replacement is crucial for maintaining the performance and water quality of your system.
6.1. Filter Lifespan & Replacement
The three filters have varying lifespans:
- PP Filter (WD-10PP): Up to 6 months. (Search for B0CM8MHWNT for replacement)
- GC Filter (WD-10GC): Up to 12 months. (Search for B0CM8KV1M9 for replacement)
- Alkaline Filter (WD-10ALK): Up to 12 months. (Search for B0D1R69QQS for replacement)
To replace a filter, simply twist the old filter counter-clockwise to unlock and pull down. Insert the new filter by pushing it up and twisting clockwise to lock. No tools are required for filter replacement.

6.2. Filter Storage
If you plan to be away for an extended period (e.g., vacation), remove the filters, place them in separate sealed plastic bags, and store them in your refrigerator (NOT the freezer) to maintain freshness for up to 30 days.
7. Troubleshooting
7.1. Understanding TDS Readings
It is important to note that TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) meters measure all dissolved solids, including beneficial minerals like calcium, potassium, sodium, and magnesium. Since the Waterdrop TSB-ALK system is designed to retain and enrich water with these minerals, your TDS reading may not significantly decrease, or might even increase slightly, compared to unfiltered tap water. This is normal and indicates the presence of healthy minerals, not impurities. A low TDS reading does not always equate to good water quality, nor does a higher TDS reading necessarily mean poor quality, especially with alkaline filters.
Video 3: Explanation of what TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) truly represents in water quality.
7.2. Low Water Flow
- Check if the water supply valve is fully open.
- Inspect hoses for kinks or blockages.
- If filters are near the end of their lifespan, they may become clogged. Replace the relevant filter(s).
7.3. Leaks
- Ensure all quick-connect fittings are fully inserted and secured with the blue locking clips.
- Check all threaded connections for tightness. Apply Teflon tape if necessary.
- Verify that filters are correctly twisted and locked into the filter head.
