Setup and Installation

Follow these steps for proper installation of your automatic chicken coop door. Ensure the installation surface is stable and provides adequate clearance for the door's operation.

1. Initial Charging

Upon receiving the chicken coop door, connect the solar panel to the main unit using the provided power cable. Place the solar panel in a sunny location for initial charging. This ensures the internal 4,000mAh battery is adequately charged before first use.

2. Selecting Installation Location

Choose a flat, vertical surface on your chicken coop for mounting. Ensure there is enough space for the door to open and close freely without obstruction. The roll-up design saves space compared to traditional swinging doors.

3. Measuring and Cutting the Opening

Use the provided positioning paper to mark the exact dimensions for the door opening on your coop. The recommended cut-out size is approximately 10.4 inches (width) by 13.38 inches (height). Carefully cut the opening using appropriate tools.

Safety Features

1. Anti-Pinch Safety Protection

The automatic chicken coop door is programmed with a protection mechanism. If the door encounters resistance (e.g., a chicken in the way) while closing, it will automatically stop and reverse, preventing injury to your poultry. It will then attempt to close again after a short delay.

2. Predator Deterrence

The door features an integrated animal deterrent system that emits sound waves to discourage predators from approaching the coop. This adds an extra layer of security for your flock.

3. Extreme Weather Resistance

Constructed from durable aluminum, the door is waterproof and designed to withstand various weather conditions, including snow, rain, and dust. It operates reliably in temperatures ranging from -15°F to 140°F (-26°C to 60°C), ensuring consistent performance year-round.

Maintenance

  • Solar Panel: Regularly clean the surface of the solar panel to ensure maximum sunlight absorption and efficient charging. Remove any dust, dirt, or debris.
  • Door Tracks: Periodically inspect and clean the door tracks to prevent accumulation of dirt, feathers, or other debris that could impede smooth operation or trigger the anti-pinch mechanism unnecessarily.
  • Battery: The 4,000mAh battery is designed for long-lasting performance. Ensure the solar panel is always exposed to adequate sunlight for optimal charging. In prolonged periods of low sunlight, manual charging via the provided power cable may be necessary.
