Product Introduction

Diagram Description: A front view of the VEVOR Automatic Chicken Coop Door. It's a rectangular unit with a sliding door mechanism on the right side. The top section contains the control panel and an infrared sensor.

Components:

  • 1. Chicken Coop Door: The main sliding panel.
  • 2. Control Panel: Located at the top of the unit, houses the display and buttons.
  • 3. Infrared sensor: Detects animals and ambient light.
  • 4. DC/Solar Female Plug: Port for power input.
  • 5. AC/DC Power Adapter: Includes cord and DC male plug for powering the unit.
  • 6. Wireless Remote Control: Used for manual operation (Batteries A27/12V sold separately).
  • 7. Self-tapping screws and screwdriver: For mounting the door frame.
  • 8. Internal Battery Pack: Provides backup power supply.

Installation Introduction

Diagram Description: Shows the installation of the Chicken Coop Door Frame onto a chicken coop wall. Callouts indicate: 1. Chicken Coop Door Frame, 2. Screw Installation Location (mounting points), 3. Chicken Coop Structure/Wall (with a hole for frame installation), and 4. Hole for power supply to run through. Dimensions are shown: 8.3 inches in width and 10.24 inches in height for the door opening.

Installation Steps:

  1. Verify or create an opening in the chicken door structure/wall suitable for the chicken coop door frame. The required opening width is 8.3 inches and height is 10.24 inches.
  2. Attach the chicken coop door frame to the chicken coop structure/wall using the self-tapping screws. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN, AS THIS CAN COMPRESS THE DOOR AND PREVENT IT FROM OPENING. Ensure the frame is flat against the structure with no gaps or warps after screws are installed. A power tool is recommended for installing screws.
  3. Connect the DC Male Plug of the AC/DC Power Adapter to one of the DC Female Plugs on the chicken coop door.
  4. Connect the AC/DC Power Adapter to a power source. The Digital Display will illuminate, confirming the unit is on. Ensure the power source is protected from weather by plugging it into the interior of the coop or by using a simple power supply box.
  5. For instructions on using the light sensor or timer, refer to pages 10-11.
  6. If the door is not opening or closing fully, try loosening the mounting screws. The door can become pinched if installed too tightly.
  7. If the door is not closing after programming, try turning the power off and then on again, and attempt to close it.
  8. If there is exterior trim or other elements that might cause uneven installation, use 2x4s or flat pieces of wood to ensure the frame is flush.
  9. Use two 1" wooden spacers and install them above the door, aligned with the width of the holes in the rain shield.
  10. Install the rain shield onto the two wooden spacers so the door can move up and behind it.

General Installation Continued (Infrared Sensor)

  • The infrared sensor is built into the door.
  • A red light ? on the sensor indicates when something is blocking the infrared ray. The door will not close while this light is illuminated.
  • The animal sensing probe is shown in the diagram. When the door descends, the probe senses an animal (indicated by action+temperature and a blue light ?). The door will then return to its raised position. After 1 minute, it will continue to descend. After a power outage, restarting the probe requires about 15 seconds of preheating (until the blue light goes out) for normal operation.
