COTINSE Wireless Doorbell Extender Instruction Manual

Model: C+WET02AC | Brand: COTINSE

1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your COTINSE Wireless Doorbell Extender. This device is designed to convert an existing wired doorbell signal into a wireless signal, allowing you to use a portable receiver/chime. Please read this manual thoroughly before use to ensure proper function and safety.

The COTINSE Wireless Doorbell Extender kit integrates easily and quickly into any existing doorbell system, acting as a radio transmitter for electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical doorbells/chimes.

2. Product Overview

2.1 Components

The package includes one wireless receiver and one radio converter (transmitter).

Image 2.1: Components of the COTINSE Wireless Doorbell Extender. The image displays the receiver with its AC plug, speaker, LED indicator, and control buttons (Up, Down, Volume). It also shows the radio converter (transmitter) with its power cables, LED indicator, and internal antenna.

2.2 Key Features

  • Wireless Signal Transmission: Converts existing wired doorbell signals to wireless.
  • Extended Range: Up to 200 meters (650 feet) between transmitter and receiver in open areas.
  • Adjustable Volume: 5 levels of adjustable volume, from 0 to 110 dB.
  • Multiple Melodies: 58 different melodies to choose from.
  • LED Flash Alerts: Visual alerts for incoming doorbell rings.
  • Memory Function: Retains selected settings after power loss.

3. Safety Information

Caution: Connect to 3-24V AC/DC only. Do not connect to high-voltage circuits to avoid short-circuit risk. This device is designed for use without damaging existing doorbell system circuits.

  • Ensure the power supply matches the specified voltage range (3-24V AC/DC).
  • Do not expose the device to water or extreme temperatures.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the device yourself. Contact customer support if issues arise.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Connecting the Radio Converter (Transmitter)

The radio converter connects to your existing wired doorbell system. The marked wireless (+/-) cables do not require differentiation between positive and negative poles, simplifying installation.

  1. Identify your existing doorbell system: Locate the chime unit and the wiring connected to your doorbell button.
  2. Disconnect power: For safety, turn off the power to your doorbell system at the circuit breaker before proceeding.
  3. Connect the converter: Connect the two wires from the radio converter to the doorbell terminals of your existing chime unit. These are typically the terminals where the wires from your doorbell button connect. Ensure a secure connection.
  4. Secure the converter: Place the radio converter inside the existing doorbell chime housing or in a suitable, dry location near the chime.
  5. Restore power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker.

4.2 Pairing the Receiver with the Transmitter

The receiver and transmitter are usually pre-paired from the factory. If re-pairing is needed or if you add additional transmitters/receivers:

  1. Plug the wireless receiver into a standard AC power outlet.
  2. Press and hold the volume button on the receiver for approximately 3-5 seconds until the LED indicator flashes rapidly. This indicates pairing mode.
  3. Within 10 seconds, press your existing wired doorbell button (which is connected to the radio converter). The receiver should chime, and its LED indicator will flash, confirming successful pairing.
  4. If pairing fails, repeat the steps.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Adjusting Volume

The wireless doorbell receiver features 5 adjustable volume levels, allowing you to select the appropriate volume between 0 and 110 dB.

  1. Press the Volume Button on the side of the receiver repeatedly to cycle through the 5 volume levels.
  2. Select the desired volume. The receiver will play a short chime at the selected level.

5.2 Changing Melodies

The receiver offers 58 different melodies.

  1. Press the Up or Down buttons on the side of the receiver to cycle through the available melodies.
  2. Once you hear a melody you like, stop pressing the buttons. The receiver will remember this selection due to its memory function.

5.3 Receiving a Doorbell Signal

When someone presses your existing wired doorbell button, the radio converter will send a wireless signal to the receiver. The receiver will then play the selected melody and flash its LED indicator.

6. Maintenance

  • Clean the devices with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Ensure the receiver is plugged into a stable power source.
  • The radio converter requires 1 AAA battery (included). Replace the battery when the LED indicator on the converter no longer flashes or the signal becomes unreliable.
  • Keep the devices away from direct sunlight, rain, and high humidity.
