Setup Guide

Connecting Your Keyboard

1. Unpack the TECKNET Gaming Keyboard from its packaging.
2. Locate an available USB-A port on your computer (PC or Laptop).
3. Insert the USB cable of the keyboard into the USB-A port.
4. The keyboard is plug-and-play and should be automatically recognized by your operating system (Windows XP/VISTA/7/8/10/11 or macOS). No additional drivers are typically required.

Operating Instructions

RGB Illumination Control

The keyboard features 15-zone rainbow backlighting with various customization options:

• Changing Illumination Modes: Press Fn + Insert to cycle through the 7 illumination modes.
• Adjusting Brightness: Press Fn + ↑ (Up Arrow) to increase brightness and Fn + ↓ (Down Arrow) to decrease brightness (4 levels available).
• Adjusting Light Speed: Press Fn + ← (Left Arrow) to decrease light speed and Fn + → (Right Arrow) to increase light speed.
• Backlight Sleep Mode: After 5 minutes of inactivity, the keyboard backlight will turn off and enter sleep mode. To wake up the buttons and backlight, press any key or Fn + PgDn.

Multimedia and Special Functions

The keyboard includes 12 multimedia keys and other special functions accessible via the Function (Fn) key:

• Multimedia Control: Press Fn + (F1-F12) for various multimedia functions such as volume control, media playback, and launching applications. Please note: Multimedia keys are not compatible with Mac operating systems.
• Windows Key Lock: Press Fn + Win to lock or unlock the Windows key, preventing accidental presses during gaming.
• WASD and Arrow Key Swap: Press Fn + W to swap the functionality of the WASD keys with the arrow keys. Press again to revert.

Maintenance

Cleaning Your Keyboard

• To clean the keyboard, first disconnect it from your computer.
• The keycaps are removable, allowing for easier cleaning of dust and debris that may accumulate underneath. Gently pull keycaps upwards to remove them.
• Use a soft, dry cloth or a brush to remove dust from the surface and between keys. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, ensuring no liquid enters the keyboard.
• Ensure the keyboard is completely dry before reconnecting it to your computer.

Spill Resistance

The keyboard is designed with IP32 spill resistance. In case of accidental liquid spills, the 4 drainage holes located in the wrist rest help to channel liquid away from internal components. While this feature provides protection, it is recommended to clean up spills immediately and avoid submerging the keyboard in liquid.

Troubleshooting

Backlight Not Lighting Up or Turning Off

• Issue: Backlight is off or turns off after a short period.
• Solution: The keyboard has an automatic backlight sleep mode after 5 minutes of inactivity. Press any key or Fn + PgDn to reactivate the backlight and buttons. Check brightness settings using Fn + ↑ (Up Arrow).

Multimedia Keys Not Functioning on Mac

• Issue: Multimedia keys (Fn + F1-F12) do not work on macOS.
• Solution: This is a known compatibility limitation. The multimedia keys are designed for Windows operating systems and are not supported on Mac.

Keys Not Responding or Input Lag

• Issue: Keys are unresponsive or there is a delay in input.
• Solution:
  1. Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and the computer.
  2. Try connecting the keyboard to a different USB port on your computer.
  3. Restart your computer.
