4. Setup Instructions
4.1. Power Connection
Connect a standard 9V DC power adapter (center negative) to the DC 9V input jack on the JF-24 pedal. Ensure the power supply is stable and provides the correct voltage and polarity to prevent damage.
4.2. Basic Signal Chain Connection
- Connect your instrument (e.g., guitar) to the INPUT jack of the JF-24 using a standard 1/4-inch instrument cable.
- Connect the OUTPUT jack of the JF-24 to your amplifier or next pedal in the signal chain using a standard 1/4-inch instrument cable.
4.3. Connecting Effects Loops (Loop A and Loop B)

Image: The JF-24 pedal with highlighted 'Send A', 'Return A', 'Send B', and 'Return B' jacks, indicating where to connect external effects pedals to create two independent loops.
- For Loop A: Connect the SEND A jack to the input of your first effect pedal in Loop A. Connect the output of the last effect pedal in Loop A to the RETURN A jack.
- For Loop B: Connect the SEND B jack to the input of your first effect pedal in Loop B. Connect the output of the last effect pedal in Loop B to the RETURN B jack.
- Use the provided CM-05 patch cables for connecting pedals within each loop for optimal signal integrity.
4.4. Visual Demonstration of Connections

Video: A demonstration by EX Effects Device showcasing the connection and basic operation of a guitar effects loop switcher, which is conceptually similar to the JF-24's looping functionality.
Video: A preview by JFOUT demonstrating the Sonic One Loop pedal, illustrating AB line selection and loop functionality, which can be applied to understanding the JF-24.
Video: A preview by JFOUT demonstrating the Sonicake ABY pedal, showing how to switch between two different signal paths, a core function of line selectors.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Selecting Looping Modes
Rotate the Line Mode Selection Control Knob to choose your desired looping mode (A/B, A/Bypass, B/Bypass, A+B/Bypass, A/B/Bypass, or A/B/Out Select). The selected mode determines how the footswitch will function.
5.2. Using the Footswitch
Once a mode is selected, press the footswitch to toggle between the active loops or bypass state as defined by the chosen mode. The LED indicators (A and B) will illuminate to show which loop(s) are currently active.
5.3. Adjusting Loop Levels
Use the A Level Control Knob and B Level Control Knob to adjust the output volume of Line A and Line B, respectively. This allows for balancing the volume of different effects chains or creating volume boosts/cuts when switching between loops.
5.4. Using as an Amp Switcher (A/B/Out Select Mode)
In A/B/Out Select mode, the JF-24 can function as an amp switcher. Connect your instrument to the main INPUT. Connect different amplifiers or signal destinations to the main OUTPUT, SEND A, and SEND B jacks. The footswitch will then cycle your instrument's signal through these three outputs, allowing you to switch between different amps or signal paths.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the pedal and cables. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the pedal and cables in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Cable Care: Avoid sharp bends or kinks in the patch cables to prevent internal damage. Regularly check plugs for secure connections.
- Power: Always disconnect the power supply when the pedal is not in use for extended periods.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Sound:
- Check all cable connections (instrument, amplifier, power, effects loops).
- Ensure the power adapter is correctly connected and functioning.
- Verify the selected looping mode and footswitch status.
- Check the 'A Level' and 'B Level' knobs are not set to minimum.
- Signal Loss/Noise:
- Ensure all cables, especially the CM-05 patch cables, are securely connected and not damaged.
- Test individual pedals in the loops to identify any faulty units.
- Ensure the power supply is free from interference.
- LEDs Not Lighting Up:
- Check power connection.
- If using a battery (though this model is primarily corded electric, some similar pedals support it), ensure it is fresh and correctly installed.
