Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe operation, assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your FREEBOY J01 PRO Adult Electric Scooter. Please read this manual thoroughly before your first ride to ensure optimal performance and safety.

What's in the Box

Upon opening the package, verify that all components are present and undamaged. The package should contain:

• Scooter Charger
• Two Keys
• Instruction Manual (this document)
• Tool Kit (wrenches, hex keys)
• Front Wheel Installation Instructions (separate sheet)

Setup and Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble your FREEBOY J01 PRO Electric Scooter. Refer to the installation video for visual guidance.

1. Unboxing: Carefully remove the scooter and all components from the packaging.
2. Unfolding the Scooter:
   • Locate the folding mechanism button at the base of the steering pole. Press this button down.
   • Lift the steering pole upwards until it locks into place.
   • Arrange any cables neatly and insert the latch retainer into the designated hole to secure the pole.
3. Handlebar Assembly:
   • Open the handlebar by twisting and tightening the two spiral rings on the pole. Ensure they are securely fixed.
   • Attach the instrument (display) using a No. 2 hex wrench.
   • Secure the turn signal using a No. 3 hex wrench.
   • Secure the brake levers using a No. 5 hex wrench.
4. Headlight Installation: Secure the headlight with a No. 5 socket wrench.
5. Seat Installation (Optional):
   • Stand the seat up and press the button below the seat post.
   • Press the latch down tightly again to secure the seat post.
   • Adjust the cushion to the appropriate position and fix it.

Operating Instructions

Familiarize yourself with the controls and functions of your scooter before riding.

Powering On/Off and Display Functions

1. Power On: Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the right once.
2. Display Activation: Press the meter open key (power switch) on the display unit to turn on the meter.
3. Display Information:
   • Press the power switch once to cycle through display modes: total mileage, voltage, time, and single drive mileage.
4. Gear Shifting:
   • Press the 'M' button to shift between gears (speed modes).
   • First gear: Up to 15 km/h (approx. 9 mph).
   • Second gear: Up to 30 km/h (approx. 18 mph).
   • Third gear: Up to 45 km/h (approx. 28 mph).
5. Speed Limit Removal: To lift the speed limit, press the 'M' key 5 times in a row.

Lighting and Horn

• Headlight: The scooter is equipped with a bright LED headlight for night commuting.
• Walking Lights: The scooter features walking lights for enhanced visibility.
• Turn Signals: Left and right turn signals are integrated for signaling turns.
• Horn: Use the buzzer horn to alert others.
• Brake Light: The rear brake light illuminates when brakes are applied.

• Powerful Motor: Equipped with an 800W motor, reaching a top speed of 45KM/H (approx. 25 mph).

Folding and Storage

The FREEBOY J01 PRO Electric Scooter is designed for easy folding, making it convenient for storage and transport.

1. Receive the Seat: If the seat is installed, first receive the seat by breaking the retainer, pressing the button, and putting down the cushion. Place the cushion in place.
2. Fold Handlebars: Rotate the screw handles on both sides of the handlebar and fold the front handles inwards. Arrange the storage pole.
3. Fold Main Pole: Remove the latch at the base of the main pole, press firmly on this position, and fold the pole down until it clicks into its folded state.

• Cleaning: Clean the scooter with a damp cloth. Avoid using high-pressure water jets directly on electrical components.
• Fasteners: Check all screws and fasteners regularly to ensure they are tight. Tighten any loose components.
