Setup Instructions

1. Choose Your Mounting Option

The Kaistyle Magnetic Car Mount offers two installation methods: dashboard mounting using the adhesive base or air vent mounting using the metal hook.

2. Dashboard Installation (Adhesive Base)

1. Select Location: Choose a flat, clean, and smooth surface on your dashboard that does not obstruct your view or interfere with vehicle controls.
2. Clean Surface: Thoroughly clean the chosen area with an alcohol wipe and allow it to dry completely. This ensures maximum adhesion.
3. Apply Adhesive Base: Peel off the protective film from the VHB 3M adhesive on the base. Press the adhesive base firmly onto the dashboard for at least 30 seconds.
4. Cure Time: For optimal adhesion, allow the adhesive to cure for at least 24 hours before attaching the magnetic head or placing a phone on the mount.

3. Air Vent Installation (Metal Hook)

1. Attach Metal Hook: Securely attach the metal hook component to the back of the magnetic head.
2. Insert into Vent: Carefully insert the metal hook into one of your car's air vent blades. Ensure it is firmly clipped to prevent movement.
3. Vent Compatibility: This mount is compatible with most horizontal, vertical, and grid-style air vents. It is not suitable for round air vents.

4. Phone Preparation (for Non-MagSafe Devices)

If your phone or phone case is not MagSafe compatible, use the included metal ring for magnetic attachment:

1. Clean Surface: Clean the back of your phone case where you intend to place the metal ring.
2. Position Ring: Carefully peel the adhesive backing from the metal ring. Center the ring on the back of your phone case. For optimal alignment with the car mount's magnets, you may wish to temporarily place your phone on the mount to find the ideal position before permanently adhering the ring.
3. Apply Firmly: Press the metal ring firmly onto the case for several seconds.

MagSafe compatible iPhones (iPhone 12 series and newer) and MagSafe cases do not require the metal ring.

Operating Instructions

1. Attaching Your Phone

Once the car mount is securely installed, simply bring your MagSafe-compatible phone (or phone with the metal ring) close to the magnetic head. The strong N55 magnets will automatically align and securely hold your device.

2. Detaching Your Phone

To remove your phone, gently pull it away from the magnetic head. The strong magnetic connection ensures your phone stays put during driving but allows for easy one-handed removal when needed.

3. Adjusting Viewing Angle

The Kaistyle Magnetic Car Mount features an adjustable swivel ball joint, allowing for 360-degree rotation. You can easily rotate your smartphone to any desired orientation (portrait or landscape) and tilt it to achieve the optimal viewing angle for safe driving and navigation.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface of the car mount. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these may damage the finish.
• Adhesive Check: Periodically check the dashboard adhesive base for any signs of loosening. If the adhesive weakens, clean the surface and re-apply with a new VHB 3M adhesive pad (not included) if necessary.
• Vent Clip Check: For vent-mounted units, ensure the metal hook remains securely attached to the vent blade. Inspect for any wear or damage to the clip over time.
• Magnetic Surface: Keep the magnetic surface clean and free of debris to ensure a strong and consistent magnetic connection with your phone.

Troubleshooting

Problem: Phone does not hold securely or falls off.

• Check Magnetic Alignment: Ensure your phone or case is properly aligned with the magnetic head.
• Metal Ring Placement: If using the metal ring, verify it is correctly centered on your phone case and securely adhered.
• Case Thickness: Very thick or non-MagSafe compatible cases without the metal ring may reduce magnetic strength.
• Phone Weight: While designed for strong hold, extremely heavy phones (e.g., over 500g) might require precise alignment or a different mounting solution.

Problem: Dashboard mount detaches from the surface.

• Surface Cleanliness: Ensure the dashboard surface was thoroughly cleaned and dry before initial application.
• Cure Time: Verify that the adhesive was allowed sufficient cure time (24 hours) before use.
• Temperature: Extreme temperatures can affect adhesive performance. Avoid installing in very cold conditions.
• Re-application: If the adhesive has weakened, remove the old adhesive, clean the surface, and apply a new VHB 3M adhesive pad.

Problem: Vent mount is loose or breaks.

• Vent Type: Confirm your car's air vent is compatible (not round).
• Secure Attachment: Ensure the metal hook is fully inserted and clipped onto the vent blade.
• Wear and Tear: Over extended use, the vent attachment may experience wear. Inspect for damage and replace if necessary.
