Setup Guide

1. Camera Placement

The baby camera is designed for indoor use and can be placed on a tabletop or mounted. Ensure the camera has a clear view of your baby and is positioned at a safe distance, out of reach of children.

2. Power Connection

  1. Connect one power adapter to the baby camera and plug it into a power outlet.
  2. Connect the second power adapter to the parent unit and plug it into a power outlet. The parent unit has a built-in 2500mAh battery for portable use, but it should be charged initially.

3. WiFi On/Off Switch and Dual Mode Operation

The Simyke BMS28 offers flexible monitoring options:

  • WiFi OFF Mode (Local Streaming): For home viewing, you can use the parent unit display without connecting to WiFi. This mode ensures privacy as the video stream remains local between the camera and the parent unit.
  • WiFi ON Mode (Remote & Local Streaming): To use the Simyke app for on-the-go viewing, switch the WiFi to ON. This enables remote access via your smartphone or tablet. The app connection is secured with AES 256-bit encryption.

4. App Installation (for WiFi ON Mode)

  1. Download the Simyke app from your device's app store (compatible with Android and iOS).
  2. Follow the in-app instructions to create an account and add your camera. Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network during setup.

Operating Instructions

1. Basic Monitoring

Once powered on and paired, the parent unit will automatically display the camera feed. If using the app, open it on your smartphone or tablet to view the live stream. The camera provides 1080p video resolution for clear viewing.

2. Two-Way Talk

The monitor features a two-way talk function, allowing you to speak to your baby through the camera. Press and hold the microphone button on the parent unit or use the talk function in the app. The microphone volume can be adjusted.

3. Night Vision

The camera automatically switches to infrared night vision in low-light conditions, providing a clear view of your baby up to 3 meters away, even in complete darkness.

4. Lullabies

The monitor includes 5 pre-programmed lullabies to help soothe your baby to sleep. These can be activated and controlled from the parent unit or the app.

5. VOX Mode (Voice Operated Exchange)

VOX mode is a power-saving feature. When enabled, the parent unit screen will turn off to conserve battery. It will automatically light up and alert you when a sound (like your baby crying) is detected. The parent unit can operate for up to 14 hours in VOX mode and 10 hours with the screen continuously on.

  • Real-time Sleep Detection: Tracks sleep and wake states, providing alerts for changes.
  • Face Coverage Monitoring: Alerts if the baby's nose or mouth becomes obscured.
  • Cry Recognition: Detects crying and can automatically play lullabies from a selectable music library.

Care and Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera and parent unit. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
  • Water Resistance: The device is not water resistant. Avoid exposure to water or high humidity.
  • Temperature: Operate and store the device within recommended temperature ranges to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Simyke Smart Video Baby Monitor, please refer to the following common solutions:

  • No Image/Sound: Ensure both the camera and parent unit are powered on and properly connected. Check if the camera's lens is clear and unobstructed.
  • Poor Connection/Range: Verify that the camera and parent unit are within the 1500ft range. Obstacles like thick walls or other electronic devices can interfere with the signal. For app connectivity, ensure your WiFi network is stable and 2.4GHz.
  • Battery Life: If the parent unit battery drains quickly, ensure it is fully charged. Use VOX mode to extend battery life.
  • Bright Light from Camera: If the camera's indicator light is too bright, check the device settings in the app or parent unit for options to adjust or disable indicator lights, if available.

If the problem persists, please contact Simyke customer support for further assistance.
