Introduction

The SIUMAL Universal IR Remote Control is designed to replace multiple original remote controls, offering a convenient solution for managing various infrared-compatible audio-video devices. This remote is compatible with a wide range of brands, including Samsung, LG, Sony, Panasonic, Philips, TCL, Toshiba, Sharp, and Haier, among others. It operates solely via infrared (IR) signal, requiring no Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection.

This manual provides detailed instructions for setting up, operating, and maintaining your universal remote control.

Setup

1. Battery Installation

Before using the remote control, install two AAA batteries.

1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control.
2. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2. Programming the Remote Control

The remote control can be programmed using either manual code entry or automatic code search.

Method A: Manual Code Entry

This method requires you to find the specific code for your device brand from the provided code list (usually included in a separate leaflet or available online).

1. Turn on the device (TV, DVD, Blu-Ray player, etc.) you wish to control.
2. Press and hold the SETUP button on the universal remote until the indicator light stays on.
3. Enter the 3-digit code for your device brand using the number buttons.
4. Point the remote at your device and press the POWER button. If the device turns off, the code is correct.
5. If the device does not respond, repeat steps 2-4 with the next code listed for your brand.
6. Once the device responds, press the SETUP button again to save the code and exit programming mode. The indicator light will turn off.

Method B: Automatic Code Search

If you cannot find the code or prefer an automated process, use the automatic code search.

1. Turn on the device you wish to control.
2. Press and hold the SETUP button until the indicator light stays on.
3. Press the POWER button once. The indicator light will flash, indicating the remote is searching for a code.
4. Point the remote at your device. The remote will automatically send power signals.
5. As soon as your device turns off, immediately press any button (e.g., OK or TV) to stop the search and save the code.
6. Test other functions (volume, channels) to ensure proper operation. If not all functions work, repeat the automatic search to find a more compatible code.

Operating the Remote Control

Once programmed, the universal remote functions like your original remote for basic operations.

• POWER (Red Button): Turns the device on or off.

• Number Buttons (0-9): For direct channel selection or code entry.
• APPS: Accesses smart TV applications.
• MENU/GUIDE/INFO/EXIT: Navigation and information buttons.
• Directional Arrows (Up/Down/Left/Right) & OK: For menu navigation and selection.
• AV/SOURCE: Selects input source.
• Volume (+/-): Adjusts volume.
• Channel (Up/Down): Changes channels.
• Mute: Mutes or unmutes audio.
• Colored Buttons (Red, Green, Yellow, Blue): Often used for specific functions in Smart TV menus or teletext.
• Media Control Buttons (Play, Pause, Stop, Rewind, Fast Forward, Record): For controlling media playback on compatible devices.
• A/B/C/D Buttons: Additional function buttons, often programmable or used for specific features on certain devices.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the remote control with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
• Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the remote's response becomes sluggish or the indicator light does not illuminate. Always replace both batteries at the same time with new AAA batteries.
• Storage: Store the remote in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
• Avoid Drops: While designed to be durable, avoid dropping the remote control to prevent damage.
