6.4 Cutting Techniques
- Always start the chainsaw before contacting the material to be cut.
- Allow the chain to reach full speed before beginning a cut.
- Apply light, steady pressure. Do not force the tool.
- Be aware of kickback. Avoid cutting with the tip of the guide bar.
- When cutting branches, make an undercut first to prevent bark stripping.

7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your tool.
- Chain Lubrication: Always ensure the oil reservoir is filled with chain oil before and during use. The automatic lubrication system requires a constant supply.
- Chain Tension: Check chain tension regularly. A properly tensioned chain should be snug against the guide bar but still allow you to pull it around by hand.
- Chain Sharpening/Replacement: A dull chain will cut poorly and increase strain on the motor. Sharpen the chain as needed or replace it with a new one when worn. Refer to the guide bar for chain specifications.
- Cleaning: After each use, remove the battery and clean the tool. Use the provided brush to remove sawdust, debris, and resin from the guide bar, chain, and motor housing.
- Storage: Store the tool in a dry, secure place, out of reach of children. Remove batteries before long-term storage.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Tool does not start | Battery not installed correctly or discharged; Safety switch not engaged; Tool malfunction. | Ensure battery is fully charged and properly inserted. Press safety switch and trigger simultaneously. If problem persists, contact support. |
| Poor cutting performance | Dull chain; Incorrect chain tension; Insufficient lubrication; Chain installed backward. | Sharpen or replace chain. Adjust chain tension. Refill oil reservoir. Check chain direction. |
| Chain stops during cut | Overload protection activated; Battery low. | Reduce cutting pressure. Allow motor to cool. Recharge or replace battery. |
| Oil leakage | Normal after use (residual oil); Loose oil cap; Damaged reservoir. | Store tool properly. Ensure oil cap is tight. If leakage is excessive, contact support. |
| Pole assembly issue (e.g., parts misaligned) | Incorrect assembly of pole sections. | Disassemble and reassemble pole sections carefully, ensuring all parts are correctly oriented and secured. |
