The Shot Navi Voice Laser Red Leo offers three primary measurement modes: Point, Scan, and Seek, along with height difference calculation.

Figure 3: Overview of key measurement features.
3.1 Point Measurement Mode
This mode measures the direct distance to a single target. It is ideal for quickly getting a distance to a specific object.
- Button Operation: Align the center of the target mark in the viewfinder with your desired object. Short press the measurement button.
- Voice Operation: Say "Point Measurement" or "Distance to Point".
The device will display the direct distance. If height difference calculation is enabled, it will also show the adjusted distance after approximately 2 seconds.

3.2 Scan Measurement Mode
In this mode, the device continuously measures distances as you move it across multiple targets. This is useful for surveying various points like bunkers, water hazards, or trees to understand their distances relative to your position.
- Button Operation: Double-press the measurement button continuously.
- Voice Operation: Say "Start Measurement" or "Start Scan".
The display will update in real-time for approximately 10 seconds as you pan the device.

3.3 Seek Measurement Mode (Pin Search Assist)
This mode assists in locking onto the pin flag, especially when there are background objects. It prioritizes closer objects, making it easier to get an accurate reading to the flag.
- Button Operation: Press and hold the measurement button while sweeping the device across the pin flag. The device will vibrate and display a flag mark when it locks onto the pin.
- Voice Operation: Say "Measure to Pin" or "Distance to Pin".
When the device successfully identifies the pin, a flag icon will appear, and the measurement will be locked, often accompanied by a vibration.
3.4 Height Difference / Estimated Distance Function
This function automatically calculates and displays the actual distance you need to hit, taking into account uphill or downhill slopes. This is crucial for accurate club selection.
- Activation/Deactivation: Press and hold the mode switch button for 5 seconds to toggle the height difference measurement function on or off.
4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning
- Use the included lens cloth to gently clean the optical lenses. Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
- Wipe the body of the device with a soft, damp cloth.
4.2 Storage
- Store the device in its leatherette case when not in use to protect it from dust and scratches.
- Keep the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
4.3 Water Resistance
The device is waterproof with an IP54 rating, meaning it is protected from dust and splashing water from any direction. However, it is not designed for submersion. Avoid prolonged exposure to heavy rain or water.
5. Troubleshooting
- Device does not power on: Ensure the battery is fully charged. Connect the device to a charger and try again.
- Inaccurate measurements: Ensure the lenses are clean. Make sure you are targeting a clear object and holding the device steady. Environmental factors like fog or heavy rain can affect accuracy.
- Voice command not recognized: Speak clearly and at a normal volume. Ensure there is no excessive background noise.
- Display is dim or difficult to read: The device features a red OLED display for visibility. Ensure the device is not exposed to extremely bright direct sunlight that might temporarily overwhelm the display.
