4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to properly set up your portable air conditioner for optimal performance.

4.1 Exhaust Hose Installation

  1. Stretch the vent hose to its full length (approximately 5.9 inches in diameter).
  2. Connect the hose connector to one end of the exhaust hose by twisting it clockwise until secure.
  3. Rotate the vent hose into the exhaust nozzle counterclockwise to attach it.
  4. Attach the hose connector to the exhaust air outlet of the AC unit by aligning and twisting.
  5. Extend the adjustable exhaust hose to fit your window opening.
  6. Insert the exhaust hose adapter into the window kit.

4.2 Window Kit Installation

The adjustable window kit is designed to fit most standard vertical and horizontal windows. Adjust the slide bar to fit your window opening and secure it. Then, insert the exhaust hose adapter into the opening of the window kit.

4.3 Unit Placement

Place the unit on a flat, stable surface near a window and a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the exhaust hose can reach the window without excessive bending or kinking. The unit features 360° casters for easy movement.

5. Operating Instructions

Your Zstar portable air conditioner can be operated using the control panel on the top of the unit or the included remote control.

5.3 Operating Modes

  • Cool Mode: Provides powerful cooling. Set your desired temperature and fan speed.
  • Dry Mode (Dehumidify): Reduces humidity in the room. The fan speed is typically fixed in this mode.
  • Fan Mode: Circulates air without cooling. Choose from high, medium, or low fan speeds.
  • ECO Mode: Optimizes energy consumption while maintaining comfort.
  • Sleep Mode: Gradually increases the set temperature over time and operates at a lower fan speed for quiet operation, ideal for nighttime use.

6. Maintenance and Care

Regular maintenance ensures your portable air conditioner operates efficiently and extends its lifespan.

6.1 Cleaning the Air Filter

The removable air filter should be cleaned regularly (every two weeks or more often depending on usage) to maintain optimal performance.

  1. Unplug the air conditioner from the power outlet.

  4. Wash the filter screen under running water (warm, not hot) or use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust.

6.2 Draining Water

While the unit has a self-evaporation system, in very humid conditions, excess water may accumulate. If the internal water tank is full, the unit will stop operating and display an error code (e.g., "FL" or "E4").

  1. Unplug the air conditioner.
  2. Place a shallow pan or tray under the drainage outlet at the bottom rear of the unit.
  3. Remove the drain plug to allow water to flow out.
  4. Once all water has drained, replace the drain plug firmly.

6.3 Seasonal Storage

When storing the unit for an extended period:

  • Drain all accumulated water completely.
  • Clean the air filter and ensure it is dry.
  • Run the unit in Fan mode for a few hours to dry the internal components.
