5. Setup

Follow these steps to connect your EVICIV Portable Monitor to your device.

5.1. Power Connection

Always connect the monitor to a power source using the provided 5V/3A power adapter before connecting to your compatible device. This ensures stable power delivery and prevents flickering or black screen issues.

5.2. Connecting to Devices

The monitor supports various connection methods depending on your device's ports and desired functionality.

5.2.1. Single Cable Solution (Full-Featured USB-C)

If your device has a full-featured USB-C 3.1 port (supporting power, signal, and touch), you can connect the monitor using a single USB-C to USB-C cable. This provides power, video signal, and touch functionality simultaneously.

Note: iOS/Mac OS/iPad OS device touch functionality is not supported via this method.

5.2.2. Two Cable Solution (HDMI + USB-A/C)

For devices without a full-featured USB-C port, or for optimal performance, you will need two cables:

  • Mini HDMI to HDMI Cable: For video signal transmission.
  • USB-A to USB-C Cable: For power and touch functionality. Connect the USB-A end to your device's USB port and the USB-C end to one of the monitor's Type-C ports.

Note: Some gaming devices (e.g., Switch, Xbox, PlayStation) do not support touch due to their system limitations. iOS/Mac OS/iPad OS device touch functionality is not supported.

5.2.3. Multiport Adapter Connection (No Touch)

If your device uses a Lightning port, micro USB port, or a non-full-featured Type-C port, you will need an adapter (not included) to connect your device to the monitor. In such cases, the touch function cannot be used. This applies to devices like iPhone and iPad series.

7. Maintenance

Proper care and maintenance will extend the life of your EVICIV Portable Monitor.

  • Cleaning the Screen: Gently wipe the screen with a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn marks, dampen the cloth slightly with water or a non-abrasive screen cleaner. Do not spray liquid directly onto the screen.
  • Cleaning the Body: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the monitor's casing. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the monitor in its smart cover to protect it from dust and scratches. Avoid placing heavy objects on top of the monitor.
  • Handling: Always handle the monitor by its edges. Avoid applying pressure to the screen.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your monitor, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • No Signal / Black Screen:
    • Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to the monitor and a power outlet.
    • Verify that the video cable (USB-C or HDMI) is firmly connected to both the monitor and your device.
    • Check your device's display settings to ensure it is configured to output to an external monitor.
    • Try a different cable or port on both the monitor and your device.
    • If using a single USB-C cable, ensure your device's USB-C port is full-featured (supports video output).
  • No Touch Functionality:
    • Ensure the USB-C cable (for touch data) is properly connected. If using HDMI, a separate USB-A to USB-C cable is required for touch.
    • Confirm that your device and operating system support touch functionality with external monitors (refer to Section 6.2).
    • For Windows, you may need to calibrate the touchscreen in Tablet PC Settings.
    • Restart both the monitor and your connected device.
  • Flickering / Unstable Display:
    • Ensure the monitor is receiving sufficient power. Always use the provided PD power adapter, especially when connecting to devices that may not supply enough power (e.g., some smartphones or laptops).
    • Try reducing the brightness or refresh rate if adjustable.
    • Check for loose cable connections.
  • No Audio from Speakers:
    • Check the volume settings on both the monitor and your connected device.
    • Ensure the monitor is selected as the audio output device in your computer's sound settings.
    • If using HDMI, ensure the HDMI cable supports audio transmission.
