4. Setup

  1. Install Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the back of the meter. Insert the two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment securely.
  2. Set Up Lancing Device:
    • Unscrew the cap of the lancing device.
    • Insert a new lancet firmly into the lancet holder.
    • Twist off the protective cap of the lancet.
    • Replace the lancing device cap.
    • Adjust the penetration depth by rotating the cap (refer to the markings on the device for appropriate depth).
    • Pull back the cocking control until it clicks, indicating it is ready to use.
  3. Prepare Test Strip: Remove one test strip from the vial. Immediately close the vial cap tightly to protect remaining strips from moisture.

5. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to perform a blood glucose test:

  1. Insert Test Strip: With the meter off, insert the test strip into the strip port. The meter will automatically turn on and display a blood drop symbol, indicating it is ready for a blood sample.
  2. Obtain Blood Sample:
    • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water, then dry them completely.
    • Choose a clean fingertip.
    • Place the lancing device firmly against the chosen fingertip and press the release button.
    • Gently squeeze the finger to obtain a small drop of blood. The meter requires only 0.6 µL of blood sample.
  3. Apply Blood Sample: Touch the tip of the test strip to the blood drop. The strip will draw the blood into the reaction area automatically. Do not apply blood to the top of the strip.
  4. Read Results: The meter will begin a countdown. Your blood glucose result will appear on the display in approximately 10 seconds. The meter has a wide test range from 20 to 600 mg/dL.
  5. Interpret Results: The RGB Safe Accu 2 features a result indicator with green and red lights.
    • Green Light: Indicates a normal blood glucose level.
    • Red Light: Indicates a low or high blood glucose level, requiring attention.
    The meter also stores up to 200 test results and provides average readings for 7, 14, and 28 days.
  6. Eject Strip: Use the strip ejector button to safely remove the used test strip without touching it. Dispose of the strip and lancet in a suitable sharps container.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the meter's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the meter in water or use harsh cleaning agents.
  • Storage: Store the meter and test strips in the provided carry case in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure the test strip vial is tightly capped after each use.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display.
  • Disposal: Dispose of used batteries, test strips, and lancets according to local regulations.

7. Troubleshooting
